Minho stood frozen in his apartment, the last desperate cries of Jisung still echoing in his ears. His heart pounded in his chest, a mix of fear and adrenaline surging through him. Without a second thought, he grabbed his keys and bolted out the door, racing to his car.

As he sped through the nearly empty streets, his mind was a whirlpool of panic and desperation. He fumbled with his phone, dialing Hyunjin's number with trembling fingers. It rang once, twice, before a sleepy voice answered.

"Hello?" Hyunjin's voice was groggy with sleep, a stark contrast to Minho's frantic state.

"Hyunjin, it's Minho," Minho gasped, his voice choked with sobs and heavy breathing. "Jisung... something happened to Jisung."

Hyunjin sat up abruptly, the urgency in Minho's voice cutting through his sleep fog. "Minho, calm down. What happened? Where are you?"

Minho's hands tightened on the steering wheel as he sped through a red light, not caring about the consequences. "He... he was drunk, and he called me. He said he still loves me, and he was crossing the street, and... oh god, he got hit by a car, Hyunjin! I heard it happen!"

There was a moment of stunned silence on the other end, then Hyunjin's voice came back, filled with alarm. "Minho, stay with me. Where is he? Do you know where they took him?"

"I don't know, I'm heading to the scene now. I have his location. I'll call you when I find out more," Minho said, his voice shaking.

In the background, Minho heard Seungmin's concerned voice asking what was going on. Hyunjin quickly relayed the situation, his own voice breaking with worry.

Seungmin's night had been peaceful, a rare moment of tranquility spent with Hyunjin. They had fallen asleep together, Hyunjin's steady breathing a comforting presence beside him. It had been a long time since Seungmin felt this content, this safe.

But the piercing ring of Hyunjin's phone shattered that peace. Seungmin stirred, still half-asleep, as Hyunjin groggily answered. He was about to drift back to sleep when he heard the panic in Hyunjin's voice, jolting him fully awake.

"Minho, calm down. What happened? Where are you?" Hyunjin's voice was tense, alarm spreading through the room like wildfire.

Seungmin sat up, his heart beginning to race. "Hyunjin, what's going on?"

Hyunjin's face was pale, his eyes wide with fear. "Minnie, Jisung was hit by a car. Minho heard it happen. We need to go to the hospital."

The words struck Seungmin like a physical blow, his breath catching in his throat. "What? No... no, that can't be right. You have to be joking."

But the look on Hyunjin's face told him it was all too real. Seungmin's chest tightened, a heavy, suffocating weight settling over him. He had been through so much with Jisung, had seen him through his highest highs and lowest lows. The thought of losing him now was unbearable.
