"You're in a good mood." Chris smirked as she rustled up some scrambled egg on toast.

She was right, I was beaming, and not just because of the gorgeous morning sunshine flooding through the window, it was simply because of the new gorgeous girl who has mysteriously appeared in my life and dreams.

Brendon glanced up from his phone that he carelessly dangled in his left hand whilst munching on his own breakfast, " Where's the fuck off don't talk to me morning Evie I know?"

Chris let out a gasp of disbelief and tapped him round the head with the spatula, "Language!"

Giggling, I took a seat opposite my brother, graciously accepting the steaming plate of eggs, "I'm just happy I didn't get red carded for once."

My memories flashed back to the game yesterday, more specifically the drive home, Kyra's lips...so close to mine.

"I saw that you know." Chris added, taking her own seat.

"Saw what?" I asked confused.

"The way that girl stopped you." Chris paused to swallow a mouthful, "She's that new signing you were talking about right?"

Brendon gasped, mouth open, "Wow someone actually stopped you on a rampage...what magical powers does she have?"

I rolled my eyes and flicked a piece of egg at his teasing face, "I guess she's good at calming people down, her name is Kyra."

"Kyra." Chris repeated intrigued, "She seems nice and certainly good for you."

Smirking, I placed my dirty dishes on the side, "Certainly good."

It was recovery day at the Arsenal.

This meant steam rooms, massages and hot tubs galore, but really a good chance to chat with our mates.

I was the last one to arrive, per usual, and I entered a packed and bustling locker room.

"Evie, fashionably late like always." Beth smirked, already adorned in a sports bra ready for the cold rooms.

"Sorry, I woke up late." I mumbled, placed my kitbag on my bench and hurrying to unpack. I was so occupied that I had forgotten to even scan the room for Kyra's presence. How could I forget?

"So...a little birdy told me, that you went home with Kyra last night?" a tantalizing Irish voice, whispered in my ear, a slight chuckle at the end.

I turned, my eyes widened, but relaxed when I saw everyone was involved in their own individual discussions, "Katie, she just drove me home, nothing happened."

I gulped unconvincingly and she laughed, putting her arm around my shoulders, "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone your dirty secret."

"Piss off." I wriggled away from her grasp and turned my attention back to getting changed. By this time, I had noticed the surroundings were mostly empty, excluding a few stragglers.

As I lifted my shirt over my head, to leave me in just a sports bra, I locked eyes with a familiar sight.

It didn't last long, Kyra broke eye contact to glance down at my abs, her eyes tracing every contour. I could visibly see her holding her own breath.

Smirking, I turned back around to dump the rest of my belongings, but before I could turn and tease her further, she had already disappeared. Just my luck.

"Evie, you're in this one." Nick, our recovery coach, led me to my own steam room stall, by now he had adjusted and adapted to my routine, unusually, I favoured being practically melted before entering the cool rooms and finally finishing in a relaxing tub.
