Twas' the evening, hours before prom night. I had told Naomi that I'd be picking her up with my motorbike, and hoping that I don't mess our clothes up.

My outfit consisted of a shiny tuxedo with a single rose in the breast pocket. The tuxedo erupted in macho (lol), and I was sure to keep it clean and tidy.

However, I needed to do one more thing.

With a sense of nervous excitement coursing through my veins, I reached for my phone and dialed Darren's number. His reassuring voice greeted me on the other end of the line, ready to lend me a listening ear and a word of advice.

"Hey, Asher, what's up?" Darren's voice came through the line, filled with warmth and familiarity.

"Hey, Darren," I replied, my voice tinged with nervous energy. "I need your help with something."

"Sure thing, buddy. What's on your mind?" Darren asked, his tone shifting to one of concern.

"It's prom night tonight, and I've been thinking... I want to tell Naomi how I feel," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line as Darren processed my confession. "Ah, I see," he finally said, his voice soft with understanding. "That's a big step, Asher. Are you sure you're ready?"

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts before speaking. "I think so. I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I just... I don't want to wait any longer."

Darren chuckled softly, the sound comforting in its familiarity. "Well, in that case, I think you should go for it. Just be honest and sincere, and let her know how you feel."

His words of encouragement filled me with a renewed sense of determination. "Thanks, Darren. I really appreciate your advice."

"No problem, Asher. Just remember to be yourself, and everything will work out," Darren replied, his voice filled with warmth.

"Thanks, Darren. I'll see you tonight," I said, a smile spreading across my face.

"Looking forward to it, Asher. You've got this," Darren said, his tone brimming with confidence.

With a newfound sense of resolve, I ended the call and took a deep breath, feeling ready to take on prom night with renewed confidence and determination. As I slipped the mysterious paper into my pocket and prepared to embark on the night ahead, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for what the evening might hold. Tonight was the night I would finally confess my feelings to Naomi, and I was ready to take that leap of faith.
