NICHOLAS' POV...

"Dammit". I cursed pushing my hair backward with my palms, why do I keep thinking about her, it's like I'm under a spell or something. It's only been a few months.

I never knew accepting her to be my housekeeper would be difficult how did I end up getting myself tangled up with her- I mean she has a "boyfriend" , whether trash or not she has a boyfriend.

I scratched my head in frustration because despite trying to dissuade myself from being deeper involved in all this, it's like ..... I'm going crazy.

But come on, it would be fine if it was a relationship with a good guy or something, I wouldn't be worried, but scum like him do not deserve women- should I report an abuse case to the police.

She might not like it if I involve myself in her personal matters- but what if he harms her. How can she even love him, it's not like it's my problem but how can she love him-

    *CLEARS THROAT.....

"What are you doing talking to yourself". I turned to the direction of the voice and saw Rebecca standing by my door, I rolled my eyes at her and looked away, I wasn't in the mood for this.

"You know what, I really don't care, your stupid phone has been ringing all through, it's annoying please take care of it".

She waved the phone at my face and almost threw it at me, luckily I managed to snatch it from her hand before she executed that evil.

She left immediately while I just stood at my previous spot scrolling through my missed calls. It was from my manager, not Sam- why the f*** did I just hope it was her, what would she possibly call me for. Damn I'm done for.

I called Phil back and sat on the couch opposite my bed, resting my back leisurely on it.

"Dude, I've been calling for like so long what's going on, are you still sick?".

"When was I ever sick." I asked rolling my eyes, why am I so annoyed with everyone.

"You were the one that told me you were sick and you were not going to come to work for a few days, I was worried and called to tell you that you had a project and if you were feeling better".

"I'm not in the mood". I answered plainly and placed my finger over the hang up button. I had lied that I was sick because I wanted to really understand what was going on with me, maybe I am a little sick- lovesick.

"What did you say? What's making you so nonchalant about this, it better not be that you're love sick, I'm right aren't I , you're in love aren't you?".

I shone my eyes in anger when I heard his question. "What are you, a psychic? Then you need to retire- you suck, I'm still on my sick leave okay, if you're done, I'll like to end the call now.. bye".

    "Wait-"

With that I cut the call and threw the phone on the table in front of me, I need to visit a therapist.

I threw my head backward and rested it on the backrest of the chair and closed my eyes, I needed to go to the factory reset of my brain.......

  SAMANTHA'S POV.....

His house is clean already, so I only have to make dishes and get groceries. I made my imaginary list in my head and pressed the door bell.

It was the lady from that day that opened the door, I took my time admiring her, she had great skin and a pretty face, wow.

I was distracted by her that I forgot that I had rung the door bell and hadn't said a word. Staring like a creep.

"Yes?". She asked suspiciously, her little head peeking behind the door. I immediately remembered what I came for and cleared my throat.

"I'm Samantha, the housekeeper ". I introduced, she looked lost for a moment then her eyes suddenly shone in excitement.

"Samantha!, Nick told me about you, come in, he's busy in his room right now but if you need something you can let me know...."

I entered in and she followed behind me. I dropped my bag on the table and went to the fridge, I need to make a grocery list.

The lady sat in the living room and was on her phone while I went ahead and started working, it's so nice being the housekeeper of a clean person and still get a nice pay.

I was checking the lower shelf of the fridge while squatting, when I noticed the shadow of a person over me, I was startled when I saw the girl's curious face over my head.

"Shall I help you with anything". I asked her , but she shook her head. "Actually, you look my age, okay no, you look a bit older, that aside though, you seem nice, let's be friends".

She stretched out her hand for a shake, I didn't return it, I stared at her hand for only a moment before my gaze returned back to her face.

"I'm not sure it's okay for me to be friends with my employer's partner, or anyone related to him at that, I'm just here to do my job-"

"Partner?!". She exclaimed standing up and looking at me shocked, it seemed she was more bothered about her title than my entire explanation.

"That is the most wicked insult I have ever received in my entire life.." she  said emphasizing on each word, ensuring I understood her, was she not his partner?.

"I'm his sister okay? I would never date someone like that, I'm his little sister". She exclaimed- oops.

I stood up in embarrassment. "I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding, you guys don't look alike so it's hard to tell, I'm really sorry, as compensation  I promise I'll be your friend, is that okay?"

"Of course!". She smiled excitedly and hugged my arm. "I'm Rebecca by the way, Rebecca Philips ".

    "Samantha Greenfield ".

I smiled at her, her smile was capable of making a person smile even if they didn't want to, she was cute, like a little puppy.

"So how old are you". She asked pulling me to one of the stools by the work top and sat across me on the other.

"I'm 27 already". I replied honestly, her smile grew larger. "Oh that's great, we're only two years apart, well since we're friends now, could you help me out with something?". She asked in a low tone making me curious.

"What's that". I whispered back . "Can you please add potato chips to the grocery list?". I looked at her confused when I heard her request- potato chips?

"It's not what you're thinking, that's not why I wanted to be friends, it's just that Nick would never want to get me any-"

I raised the piece of paper that was in my hand to stop her from talking it was a note I found in the fridge- Please get some potato chips as well.

The note was probably written by her brother seeing she snatched it from my hand out of excitement.

He cared about her a lot.

"Oh, he wrote it already, that's so  sweet of him, I'll get his card for you before I leave, so wait here okay?".

"Will you not stay?". I asked standing up with her.

"I have to go to mum, I don't live here after all, don't worry, I'll follow you to the grocery store so I can pick up my bags".

I think by bags, she was referring to the potato chips.

We left almost immediately to the store, when we returned Nicholas was still not in sight, I set the things down on the dining table and started arranging them into the fridge and wherever necessary, I also had to pin the receipt of my expenditures on the fridge .
