Setting Toby on a blind date

"Well Toby it's about time you get out of the house and get a date!"
You spoke to your best friend, and roommate, Toby. He rolled his eyes while crossing his arms, he hated when you pushed him to get out of the house more but you'd always say it was good for him. You placed your hands together in a begging motion as you pleaded with Toby to hear you out.
You stood inside of the kitchen talking to Toby about setting him up on a date with a girl you met.

"Toby, please?"
You pleaded.

"No."
Toby sternly spoke.

"Pleaseee??"
You beg again as he grumbles under his breath.

"Ugh...f-fine."
As Toby begrudgingly agreed You smile widely as you practically jump into Toby's arms to give him a hug. He tenses up as you wrap your arms around his back, Toby tries to tear you off of him but it's a challenge. You tell Toby to get ready since the date would be happening in about an hour at the diner near the park. Toby nods his head before walking off into his room. Thirty minutes later Toby walks out of his room relatively dressed up.

You come along for the drive to watch the date from afar. The two of you get in the car and drive to the diner. he has time to spare before the date so you two talk inside the car. Eventually the time came for Toby to meet up with his date, Hopefully it would go well. You watched Toby sit down In a booth infront of the girl you set him on a date with.

For about 20 minutes the date was going along well. Seeing Toby laughing on a date made your heart twinge, it was conflicting. But the date didn't last as Toby stood up and left the booth, it was out of nowhere. Toby swung open the drivers door and climbed inside. he started the car as his date came by the car, tapping on the window and pleading for him to listen to her. Toby ignored her and pulled out of the diners parking lot and drove away.

"What Was that about?"
You look at him as he seethed with rage, it's evident that his date said something that angered him.

"I-it just didn't work-k with her."
Toby spoke through gritted teeth. He clenched the steering wheel tightly. he looked ahead as the sun began to set while he was driving home.

"What do you mean it didn't work? I thought she was your type?"
You replied with complete confusion, it didn't make sense to you. Toby suddenly swerved the car to the side of the road away from all three cars and traffic. Toby turned to face you with a serious expression on his face.

"I-i want you, this entire time it was you."
You look at Toby with a confused and shocked expression, you couldn't even squeak out a single word. Toby confessed his love to you yet you couldn't even think of a single thing to say. You felt like such an asshole, Toby poured his heart out to you but you sat next to him silently staring like an idiot.

"I-I didn't care about this blind date, w-when I said I wanted to date someone it was you this whole time."
Toby placed his hands on your face, he rested them gently. Your eyes begin to swell up with tears.

"Me too. Toby, I love you."
You practically shout your confession. as Toby looks at you speechless your confidence begins to wane away. He planted a soft kiss on your forehead sealing the deal in your mind. You and Toby climb into the backseat and sit close together. Your hands were intertwined together, he was so close to you. Your scent made him relax, he leaned his head onto your shoulder feeling a sense of relief. You let yourself melt into his touch planting soft kisses on his forehead. but your intimate moment was interrupted by the realization you were at the side of the road. You and Toby climbed back up front and he started driving back onto the road.

The sun had completely set by the time you got back to your shared home. Toby headed straight to his room and changed into his more comfortable attire. He slumped down onto his bed staring at the ceiling, you soon joined him in bed. Lying down next to him you had cuddled up close to him. You didn't dare speak about what happened earlier in the day, it was a discussion meant for the next day. You fell asleep in Toby's arms, and he fell asleep in yours.
