Chapter 4: Searching for Kaname

As Chisaki and Hikari start swimming down to Shioshishio Chisaki got a little cold but she didn't care all she cared about right now is Kaname.

Chiskai played the scene that happened at the day of the Ofunehiki in her head. A more detailed flashback came to her. She remembered when Tsumugu fell off the boat, Chisaki was so worried she jumped off the boat to save Tsumugu, as Kaname watched Tsumugu fall and Chisaki jumping in to rescue him there was a sad look in Kanames eyes.

Chisaki struggled to pull Tsumugu out of the water and then suddenly he became more easier to carry, Chisaki looked to the other side of Tsumugu and found Kaname helping. Once they got on the boat they pulled Chisaki in first, next Kaname helped Tsumugu get on the ship from the ocean, once Kaname tried to get himself over the ship he saw Tsumugu on Chisakis lap while Chisaki was hugging him.

Kaname had a shocked look on his face but then there you could see the sadness in Kanames eyes. Once the pillar cracked it fell hitting the ship and knocking Kaname off the boat, while he was falling into the ocean he didn't yell for help he had a smile on his face with the sad eyes.

Chisaki had a worried and shocked expression on her face once Kaname fell, "NOOOOOOOOOO" was what she yelled, she quickly dived into the ocean to try to save Kaname but once she got to the ocean floor the scale of the sea God put everyone in Shioshishio to sleep.

Chisakis POV:
The flashback of the Ofunehiki ended. I made Kaname sad. When Kaname wakes up what do I tell him? I should apologize for not realizing I was hurting him, he told me before the Ofunehiki that his love for me won't change, that even though if we wake up at different times he will still love me.
At the time he said those I never gave him an answer, the day he confessed to me he said he doesn't need an answer but playing around with Kanames feelings must have hurt him. He knew I liked Hikari, now he must have thought that I like Tsumugu now. I'm probably hurting Kaname, when I liked Hikari I knew his love was for Manaka and I felt heart broken knowing the one I love doesn't love me back, Kaname and I have probably have been loving but hurting at the same time.

End of Chisakis POV

As Chisaki and Hikari for around Shioshishio looking for Kaname Chisaki had a worried face. "Are you alright Chisaki?" asked Hikari. "I'm fine!" Chisaki said with a fake smile. "You don't look fine, is something bothering you?" said a concerned Hikari. "What if we can't find Kaname? What if everyone in Shioshishio wakes up and Kaname hasn't been found or hasn't woken up? Everyone will blame me, most of Kaname being missing is my fault" as Chisaki said that her eyes filled up with tears and started crying. "Chisaki we will find Kaname, don't think negative if you do then we won't find him, if we are positive we will definitely find Kaname!" Hikari said trying to comfort the sad Chisaki.

"My biggest fear right now is losing Kaname" said Chisaki. Hikari didn't know how to respond to that because he also is worried.

Hikari's POV
Ever since the four of us were little Kaname was the one most mature in our group and I knew he cared deeply for Chisaki. He was mostly a laid back person who mostly takes things easy to avoid unnecessary conflict, he complains when I end up determined to do something and proceed aggressively, Kaname never shows his true feelings to others. Kaname and I were best friends ever since we were little along with Manaka and Chisaki, I didn't notice when Kaname felt hurt because he always had a smile on his face no matter what the situation was and tried to stay positive.

If I was Kaname and I woke up right now I wouldn't know how to look at Chisakis face, if I saw the person I love in someone else's arms I would be angry I would yell, but no. As Chisaki said, Kanames eyes were full of sadness but he showed a smile when falling into the ocean. I just realized I never paid attention to Kanames feelings, he could have told me if there was something bothering him, I know he doesn't want others to sympathize him but I'm his friend, Kaname acts thought but in reality he's not.
End of Hikari's POV

Chisaki wanted to look inside Kanames household to see if maybe the sea God brought him back to his house but Hikari said he has checked and Kaname is nowhere to be found. "I want to still go" says Chisaki. Hikari nodded his head and they started swimming to Kanames house.

Chisaki opened the door to Kanames house and sees his dad sleeping face down on the living room table, her and Hikari went up the stairs to see Kanames mom sleeping in her room and lastly they went to Kanames room and no one was there. Chisaki went into his room to look around, she saw pictures of all of us together playing in the park. Next to his drawers he had a calendar, he marked the day the Ofunehiki was but to Chisakis surprise he marked down the day he confessed to her. Kanames room was not too fancy it looked a little mature, the walls were white while his bed frame was grey and the blanket was black. His room wasn't messy at all. "What's this" said Hikari pointing to a book. Chisaki walked up to him, the cover of the book said "Scrap book" Chisaki opened it and found more pictures of the fun memories they all had, when Chisaki turned to the next page she found a photo of Hikari and her laughing together and Manaka was building a sand castle, near Chisaki and Hikari, Kaname looked at them with the eyes that Chisaki saw when Tsumugu was on her lap. Kaname had the same expression on his face, it was sad but he gave a fake smile. "Hikari! This was Kanames face when he saw me and Tsumugu before he fell off the boat" said a sad Chisaki. "Oh, Kaname must have felt left out, he never really showed his true feelings to anyone" said Hikari. Chisaki turned to the next page to find Kaname and her sitting on the swing set smiling together, Chisaki smiled and took the photo out of the scrap book. Hikari smiled a little when Chisaki took the photo.

"That's enough searching for today, tomorrow we shall search again" said Hikari. "Okay" said Chisaki. Once the two get back to the surface Chisaki spotted a guy on one of the glaciers sleeping. "KANAME!" shouted Chisaki. Hikari and Chisaki both ran up to Kaname, seeing him asleep they couldn't wake him up. Hikari decides to bring Kaname to Tsumugu's grandpas house and Chisaki agrees. Tsumugu's grandpa said he was going to the hospital and might be staying there for a while, he said that for the mean time Chisaki will be looking after the house and once Kaname wakes up the two would have to take care of it. Chisaki agrees and says her goodbyes to Tsumugu's grandpa.
