Riven: "I hope you get assigned to my team. I'd rather be with you than the idiots I'm stuck with – Ahri, Akali, Evelynn, and that Shuriman girl, Kai'sa. They pretty much control all the decision-making." She sighed. "We haven't spent much time together since I got into that place."
Y/N: "Well, we'll be in the same school even if we're not on the same team." You smiled, sitting down next to your sister. "I still wonder why we call ourselves twins."
Riven: "Because we're the same age. Just because I'm adopted doesn't make me any less of a sister." She turned to you. "Am I not your sister?" she frowned.
Y/N: "Of course you are." You patted her head to reassure her.
The conductor's voice announced that the train had arrived at the academy's station. You both grabbed your bags and, with one last look at each other, nodded and rushed out of the booth.
Riven: "Oh no you don't." She immediately jumped out, grabbed you by the collar, and pulled you back down onto the table as she clamored to get ahead of you.
You clamored on top of the central table but were pulled away by Riven's strong arm as she tried to get ahead of you. From outside, a blonde, fox-eared girl watched your booth shake and rumble.
???: "Are they having sex in there?" she asked herself with a blush. It didn't help that she heard a grunt from inside and a loud smack, followed by a woman's gasp. "Oh my."
You both fell out of the booth, with Riven straddling you, looking up to see the fox-eared girl staring at you.
Riven: "Oh, Ahri, I didn't know you were on the same carriage as us." Riven stood up, stepping on your head.
Y/N: "Get off me, dude." You chuckled as you stood up and dusted yourself off.
Ahri: "Well, we were in the booth right next to yours. What's this about me and the girls? What are you two idiots doing?"
Y/N: "Oh, we were trying to see who could get off the train first." You felt Riven smack you over the head.
The booth doors opened as a girl wearing shades peered out, her purple hair and taunting smile unmistakable. Riven recognized it all too well.
Evelynn: "We don't hold the power, dear. You're just too lazy to join us when it comes time for voting." She chuckled, her attention moving to you. "Oh, hello. Who might this be?" She moved past Ahri and Riven, placing her hand on your cheek. "Oh my, you are beautiful." She lowered her shades, revealing bright golden eyes, and winked. "I like you. What's your name? Are you Riven's boyfriend?"
Y/N: "U-umm." You stuttered, hypnotized by her eyes, more beautiful than the sun disc of Shurima and its golden sands.
Riven: "Yeah! Now back off." The white-haired lady got between you and Evelynn.
Evelynn: "Oh, but I heard he was your brother." She smirked, spotting Riven's obvious lie.
Riven: "Adoptive brother, so there's nothing wrong with it. Mind your business, succubus." She leaned forward before feeling a hand on her shoulder. Looking back, she found you with a disapproving look.
Y/N: "That's enough, Riven. We don't want to get in trouble." You patted her head, causing her to cross her arms and pout.
Evelynn: "That's right, listen to your 'boyfriend', Riven." Another girl pulled her back. She had her hair in two buns while the rest flowed freely down her back. She was tall, even taller than both you and Riven. Two mechanical wing-like constructs floated from her back.
Kai'sa: "Evelynn, that's enough, please." She frowned, seeing her friend trying to cause trouble again. She turned her attention to you and Riven and bowed her head. "I'm really sorry. She likes to tease people, and Riven is usually on her hit list, but she means nothing by it."
Riven sighed and nodded. "There's no need to apologize for her, Kai'sa. It's fine. She just gets" – she inhaled – "INCREDIBLY ANNOYING MOST OF THE TIME!"
The girl behind Evelynn watched and snickered. She had spiky reddish-purple hair and wore a snapback, her face covered in an oni face mask.
Akali: "I can't, it's starting all over again." She burst out laughing. "Calm down, Riven. We're all friends here." She looked over to you. "Right, big guy?"
Y/N: "Yeah, sure. Why not."
Akali: "Well, we'll be late for the opening. Come now, we have only a few hours left, so let's eat!"
As you were about to leave, she grabbed hold of your shoulder.
Akali: "You're coming with us, pretty boy."
Evelynn: "Good idea, Kali. Come now, Riven, don't be shy."
Riven just grumbled and reluctantly joined, looking at her brother being dragged by one of the popular girls. This was going to be a nightmare for her, she just knew it. Knowing her brother's effect on the ladies, he was like a harem protagonist. She sighed, trying to erase those words from her head.
Riven: "Author, repair that wall!"
The group stepped off the train, and Akali led them to the closest ramen shop. Akali sat down to your right, while Evelynn took the chance to sit down to your left, leaving Riven to sit between Kai'sa and Ahri.
Riven watched in jealousy as Akali bonded with you. Out of all her teammates, Akali was the one she was closest to, as they had fairly similar personalities. You may be her brother, but you were her adoptive brother, so you were free real estate.
Riven's POV
My glance shifted to Ahri, who was also watching Akali's actions closely. Out of nowhere, Kai'sa leaned into me.
Kai'sa: "Is your brother single or something?" she whispered, blushing.
Glass shatter sound effect.
Me: "Excuse me, WHAT!?" I whispered back aggressively.
Ahri: "I'm curious too." Ahri leaned in and whispered as well.
Me: "YEAH, HE IS! Now stick it, and don't try doing anything stupid with my brother."
Evelynn rested her elbow on the table and then her chin on her hands.
Evelynn: "You know, you should include us in your little conversation, little gossipers." She turned to Y/N. "So, Y/N..."
Akali: "HEY Y/N, are you single?" she asked out loud.
Y/N stared at her in disbelief, while the rest of us just looked on with a little jealousy. The balls on this woman!
Y/N: "Yeah?" he asked, confused, tilting his head. "Why do you ask?"
I smacked my hand onto my face. 'Oh my god, this motherfucker is dense as hell,' I thought to myself. Unknown to me, the others were having the same thought.
After eating at the ramen shop, we stood behind those two as they talked and laughed. I looked over to Evelynn, and even she was pissed.
Me: "Looks like Akali has more charm than you, Eve." Vine boom.
Evelynn: "Shut it."
Ahri and Kai'sa laughed at Evelynn's reaction. I smiled but also felt jealous. It made me happy that Y/N was finally making friends, especially with my close friend, but I was jealous that his attention wouldn't be on me. Yandere moment, sorry.
As we entered the school gates, I saw a young red-haired girl approach him.
