Chapter 2: Critter Chaos

"Alright class today we have a new student joining us, You all better be nice!" The teacher said as the first school bell rang everyone settling down "You can come in now!" The teacher exclaimed, the classroom door slowly slid open as a girl with dark brown hair peeped her head through looking petrified slowly walking in and making her way to the board "Hello everyone my name is Nekoyashiki Mayu, just call me Mayu" She stuttered before bowing quickly "That was wonderful Mayu how about you go sit over there next to the brunette with the braids" Mayu swiftly walked over to her new seat setting her bag onto the floor next to her desk

"Is that a calico critter keychain?" The brunette whispered to Mayu which scared her "Yeah it is why, do you like calico critters" The girl whispered back "Like them I love them, Im Himari by the way" She smiled "Well It's nice to meet you Himari, I think you already know my name" Mayu awardly giggled, "girls I know it's exciting to have a new student but you gotta quiet down!" The teacher barked "Sorry ma'am it won't happen again" The two girls apologized, and the rest of class was well typical nothing to write home about but the fun began as the lunch bell rang

"Hey Mayu sorry to keep you here but I wanna show you something really quick" Himari squeaked as Mayu got up "Don't worry you're not holding me up at all!" She said "Aw alright well come here," Himari said while slowly opening her desk, once Mayu was standing next to her she opened her desk to show a very organized desk, but in an empty spot where a couple of calico critters sitting around a table with a miniature cake "I didn't know what to put here so I brought some little friends to keep me company!" Himari giggled "That's so cute I love it!" Mayu grinned,

"Thanks, well I should get going I'll see you after lunch!" Himari said while getting up and walking towards the door till Mayu gently grabbed her arm "Wait um, sorry if I sound like a bother but could I join you for lunch?" The girl sheepishly asked her face turning beet red letting go of the light brunette's arm "Um sure I mean I bet my friends won't mind." Himari trailed off, she knew the girls wouldn't mind but she didn't think Mayu and her friends really wouldn't get along but she took her to the girl's favorite lunch spot anyway.

"Hey Himari, oh uh hey ummm" Ichkia beamed up at the sight of her friend but looked over to Mayu in confusion "I'm Mayu I just moved here it's nice to meet you guys" She squeaked "Oh that's why I have never seen you before! I'm Ichkia by the way, it's nice meeting ya Mayu!" The ginger exclaimed while happily shaking the brunette's hand which kind of scared her "Oh and that's Aoi!" Ichkia said pointing to the blue-haired girl who was too busy scarfing down her food to notice.

"Ah, I see..." Mayu trailed off the girls went silent, "Oh hey Himari didn't notice you getting here, who's the new girl?" Aoi exclaimed finally looking up from her food "I'm Mayu, and your Aoi right?" Mayu claimed trying to remember everyone's name to avoid any possible embarrassment

"yep, the one and only! But ah you the new girl I keep on hearing about." Aoi said "Wait what do you mean by that" Mayu stammered "Oh well I didn't hear you by name just heard about having a new student, nothing bad I promise" Aoi reassured Mayu sighed "I mean it's always fun to have a new student!" Ichkia chimed in "But it's never fun to be the new student" Mayu sighed the girls nodding in agreement "Yeah true but hey that also means new opportunities and such!" Ichkia said "Hmm yeah your right" Mayu muttered it got quiet again as the girls started eating their lunch but the silence was more awkward than last time

"soo uh Mayu you got a favorite animal or anything?" Aoi asked trying to break the ice "Omg yes I love cats, especially my cat Yuki she's white as snow but soft as a cloud..." Yuki passionately rambled on "God imagine her and Yukari meeting" Aoi playfully whispered to Ichkia who tried her hardest not to spit her food and laugh, "I even got a calico critter that looks like her and got it made into a keychain isn't it cute!" Mayu beamed holding up her bag and showing off the keychain "Omg that is super cute, I kinda want one now!" Ichkia beamed
