"You're my what?"

"Your biological mother."

What! What did she mean? My mother was back at home. And she definitely couldn't fly.

I scoffed and stood up. There was no way I could believe her. Biological mother. Right. And I'm a flying squirrel.

"You don't believe me do you?" Calypso asked.

"Of course I don't believe you! Why would I? I know who my mother is, and she's not you!" I yelled.

Calypso stumbled in the air. She looked hurt and sad. Why? Was she trying to guilt trip me? If so, it's not working.

"Look, I'm sorry for yelling, but I'm a little upset right now. So I'll just be on my way and find my friends," I said.

Calypso just nodded. She still looked hurt, but not as sad. She moved out of the way and let me pass. I looked up at her while I passed. I felt bad, maybe I shouldn't have been so mean. But what else could I do? She was pretending to be my "biological" mother.

"Bye then, Astra. I hope you travel well," Calypso said sadly. She looked down at me and I saw a tear fall down her cheek. I felt even worse, but I kept going. I needed to find Jake and Skipper. Wherever they were.

As I was walking away something glistened at the side of my eye. It looked like light reflecting off of water. I turned my head and saw a creek. A small one. I gasped and quickly ran towards it. I knelt down and looked at the creek and around it. It was exactly like the one I fell through! This is my way home!

I dipped my hand in the water and felt how cold it was. Freezing. Good, I thought. This must be the portal home. I looked around to see if anyone was there. Nobody. I sighed. I didn't know what to do. I could either jump into the creek without saying a word to anyone or I could go back to the MRC and probably never find this place again. It was my choice. One I didn't want to make. So what was I going to do?

Suddenly everything went dark. I looked up at the sky and saw stars. Big ones. That means it was night. And I was stuck here. Oh well. I stood up and grabbed the softest moss I could find to make a pillow. Luckily it was summer so the nights were warm. I found a spot to place the makeshift pillow and laid down to sleep.

"Sleeping on the ground with no protection? Bad idea, Astra," said a voice behind me.

I looked up. I couldn't see who it was because of the darkness, but I recognized the voice. It was Simon Gilbert. Someone I hated.

"What are you doing here, Simon? I thought I told you to never come near me again," I replied.

"Aw. I thought you would want to see me, sweetheart."

"I told you not to call me sweetheart!" I yelled at him.

Simon just laughed. I hated it when he did that. Simon never cared for me, he just wanted to be seen as kind and caring. He helped me out of the creek into this magical world. He took me into his home. He gave me food. Then he belittled me. Called me names, was rude, and didn't care for me. I finally left and ran into Jake at the MRC. He took me to his sister, Maria, and they both helped me. Now they are my family. And Simon is a jerk.

"Look, sweetheart, we both know why I'm here," he said, "I've come back for you, and you are coming with me. I don't want things to get messy."

"Sorry, but I have a pretty good life I should get back to. One that I don't want you in. So, before I snap, go and get out of here. 'Cause I don't want things to get messy," I mocked him.

Simon shrugged. "Fine, have it your way." He lunged at me. I rolled out of the way, and pulled my knife on him. He tried to grab it, but I jerked it out of the way and grabbed him from behind. I put the knife to his neck.
