SMG3 marched his way down the hall, careful not to knock anything over as he gets to the storage room and opens the elevator door and rushes in, pressing buttons to take him down several levels.
He had dealt with this many times before, it was odd for the townsfolk to break in the dungeon, considering that he has a door on the highest level, plus a way to it... But these idiots like to be over dramatic or make things difficult.
He could hear the doors in the dungeon burst open and hearing yelling, he couldn't make out what they were saying or anything, but he instantly recognized Mr. Puzzles's voice. Just hearing him made his blood boil, he'll take care of them... and they won't be back.
He doesn't know if they're here to take his gold, or save SMG4 or Mario, but he doesn't care, they're not taking anything, or anyone in here!
The elevator stopped and dinged and stopped, he opened the doors, and instantly arrows were shot his way, he yelped and dodged them. One near hitting him in the head. He whips his head to see almost everyone with crossbows and swords. SMG3 hardens his glare and he storms over, not at all worried about their 'weapons'
Mr. Puzzles stood back and aimed at him, "Not another step! You... you brute!!" He yells, ready to shoot at him. SMG3 stops but glares and opens his mouth to speak, only for Mr. Puzzles to cut him off.
"Where is the gold!? And my house!?" He asked. SMG3 was surprised to hear that, he thought he'd come for SMG4 and Mario. But apparently that mattered less-
"A-And Mario!?" Luigi stammers, cowering a bit as he holds the sword up, SMG3 blinked staring at Luigi... right, Mario had a brother..
"Nevermind Mario, Luigi! You and Tari go!" Yelled Mr. Puzzles, who tried to be subtle with something as SMG3 cocks an eyebrow watching Luigi and Tari run away. But he didn't even get a chance to process before he was shot in the eyes by some orange liquid.
He loses his sight for a little while as he rubs his eyes and stumbles back. Meggy lands back into a shelf and she huffs, glaring at the giant as she turns to the two people at the bottom, Saiko and Bob, she nods as they nod back and run behind the giant and run up a ramp to get to the counter and to the ceiling.
SMG3 stumbled farther to the left as he failed to realize Mr. Puzzles just at his eye level, he drew his sword and was going to jab it into his eye, he then got distracted by the bandages on his arm.
How... How did he get those...? He shouldn't have been able to patch them up, and he also noticed he had better coordination despite being blinded by Meggy's shots, which wouldn't be right... someone with.. a month of no sleep and an infected arm should have a great effect on the giants physicality.
That was the whole point! He, and the other minions here were SUPPOSED to have the advantage! He was supposed to have almost no energy, and was supposed to be hurt!!
SO HOW DID HE-
But then he realizes he was distracted for too long as the eye in front of him finally opens, SMG3 growls violently as he raised his fist and slammed it down on the shelf, Mr. Puzzles yelps and dodges the hand, but also swiftly whips around and raised his sword high and jams it into the giants wrist.
SMG3 caterwauls and stumbles back quickly, gripping his hand as blood gushes out and tickles down his arm. SMG3 doubles over, holding his wrist seething and wincing. He didn't pay attention to anyone else as he stood in the middle of the room.
"NOW!!!" Meggy shouts, SMG3's eyes fling open, they were bloodshot from rage and agony as he looked around, swinging his hands trying to hurt the people on the shelves but they ran away and dodged him. SMG3 huffs but before he could do anything else, a net falls down on him, it was bigger than he was shockingly, and on top of that, weighted.
The net forced him down onto the concrete floor, SMG3 yelps and thrashes around in the net trying to get free, but the weight keeps him from getting up. Mr. Puzzles huffs and glares, "there we go... now.. Tari.. and Luigi... where are they?" Mr. Puzzles asks.
Boopkins shrinks, "they're getting the box.. they'll be-"
"We're here!!" Tari yells. Mr. Puzzles completely ignores Boopkins and turns to the two, "Perfect!! Did you also locate where the gold was?" Mr. Puzzles asks. Tari nodded, but didn't smile, Luigi turned back, and stared at something.
"Well? Where is it!?" Mr. Puzzles asks getting impatient. What was he staring at!? And... is she hiding something..?
Tari shook her head "oh! Uh.. there's a safe on the top floor! And there's also.. piles.. and piles of gold on the other few stories too!" Tari explains sheepishly. Mr. Puzzles nods "I see... we're gonna have to make many trips.." he stated.
"Well, Mrs. Tari.. you know what to do then.." He stated. Tari shrinks and she looks over at SMG3 as he continues to frantically caterwaul and thrash in the net.
Tari walked closer as Mr. Puzzles gestures for everyone to lower their weapons and to quiet down. SMG3 huffs rapidly and so intensely as Tari gets close and she anxiously plays the music box, SMG3's eyes widen with shock but he wasn't very resistant to the box oddly.
Tari seems to play this box... a lot softer than SMG4 had.. he felt drowsy instantly as he stopped flailing and started to feel heavy and tired. Letting his eyes rest finally as he loses consciousness.
Once he was asleep. Mr. Puzzled took the box from Tari and pats her shoulder, "thank you, Tari, now, let us go get what we can.. and.. leave, hm?" He says, "oh! And be quiet!" He threatens the others who nod and follow behind him, light in their steps.
Mr. Puzzles was off with Meggy, Bob, Saiko and Boopkins, but Luigi and Tari were farther behind, as they walked past some crates. Luigi then turns,
"He's gone," Luigi whispers. Mario then steps out from the crate, he looks so drained and sad for some reason as Luigi frowns and pats his shoulder "it'll be okay bro, you can visit whenever you want as long as... Mr. Puzzles isn't watching.
Mario nods sadly, wiping tears, he had nothing to say back, he knows this is right, and that's that. Luigi then turned to Mr. Puzzles who left the dungeon, "meet us back at the village, okay?" Luigi instructed. Mario nodded and turned to Tari,
"And don't worry! We won't tell Mr. Puzzles about your friend if he wants to stay here.. he won't like that so.. we won't tell" she promises sweetly.
Mario nodded again, and he turned and walked to the dungeon doors heading back to the village. Leaving in the dirt road as he stopped and turned to the window.
There, he saw SMG4 in the window, he smiled at Mario and just waved, Mario waves as SMG4 shelf up a piece of paper with writing on it.
'I'll see you later in the week!'
Mario lights up.. realizing it wasn't really a goodbye, so he nodded and waved goodbye. SMG4 smiled brightly and waved back. Before he jolts, hearing a noise and running. Mario taking off down the road to hurry back to the village.
