I can't afford to be weak like I was two days ago. I froze when Sans tried to kill me and it almost cost me my life. For my sake- for my family's sake, I've got to become stone-faced in the wake of danger.

For the past two days, I have been hiding in this strange, hot town. Despite fears of getting burned, the pools of magma were beautiful and the scenery was awe inspiring. The houses were closer together here than in Snowdin and it had a bigger population, which made hiding difficult.

I was underneath a pavilion. It seemed to be for public speaking, but there was a break in the wood that covered the underneath, which was empty space. Nobody was around, so I crawled in here to enjoy the cool darkness. Me and Flowey found some candy on a monster's porch and I wanted to eat it in peace.

I finished it and laid on my back, facing the dark wood above me. It was a small space, but tall enough to be able to comfortably lay on my side. I closed my eyes. This was the most comfortable I've been in days. I should take this chance to sleep.

There were footsteps above me. The person didn't say anything, just paced slowly. With each step, dirt floated down from the wood panels. I closed my eyes to avoid getting anything in them.
I think two other people entered the pavilion. I turned on my stomach to face away from their feet. They spoke quietly and stopped walking, potentially sitting on the pavilian's rails.
I controlled my breathing as to not draw their attention to me.

Around me, I heard more footsteps approaching. Is this some kind of meeting, or speech? As more people gathered around the pavilian, their chatter rose.

A confident woman's voice boomed over the crowd. "If everyone is here, I will start. Civilians may also listen."
Was that Undyne? It was hard to tell. Even though I was unsure, the possibility made my heart skip a beat.

The voice continued, "I'm sure many of you have heard the news about the loose human. For the civilians listening, don't fret. Us royal guards will have this issue dealt with in a matter of days or hours. For my company, we have been given orders to search the entire underground. If you see any monsters helping the loose human, you are ordered to arrest... or kill them."

Yeah, that's definitely Undyne. But who are the other people on the pavilian? This must be a meeting for royal guards, so my guess was Papyrus and some other monster. I was probably wrong, though.
I wonder what happened to Sans?
Why would Undyne shoot him? He was doing what they were instructed to do- killing me. Maybe it was for his other crimes as well. That is, if killing is illegal down here. I'm starting to doubt it.

Undyne continued to talk to the civilians about what to do if they found me. They were told to not attempt to kill me, but to neutralize me and get help from the guards. I'm not really sure what "neutralize" meant.

After Undyne finished talking, the crowd buzzed with questions. However, I couldn't hear them very well. After questions were answered, the crowd dispersed. A few monsters stayed to converse with the people on the pavilian.

"So, what ended up happening to him?" A stranger asked. Undyne sighed, "He's going to Alphys to get a healing potion, but the waiting list on those things is insane. He's on everyone good side, though, so he might stand a fighting chance."

A voice from above me spoke, "Oh, it's just ridiculous. Alphys is starting to run out of potions and after that, there's no way to get anymore of them. I seriously doubt she'd waste any of that finite source on a pathetic killer like Sans."

"C'mon, be nice..." Undyne replied. There was light laughter. What was funny about that?
A third, deep voice spoke. I had to strain to hear him.

"Damn, I remember back when we could just do that healing magic ourselves. We didn't need to wait on a single person to give us some stupid potion. Ah, how easy life was..."
