At midnight, we found ourselves in the forest. Getting Pablo out of his room was a challenge. He was hesitant, worried about what the others would think, but I assured him they were his friends and wouldn't judge him. Sneaking out while everyone slept, I helped Pablo with his vampire speed, crucial for hunting.
Once he felt more confident, I led him to a quiet corner of the forest where humans were nearby. Music thudded in the distance as we watched a group of teenagers partying. Pablo struggled with his heightened senses, so I waited patiently.
A teenage boy wandered deeper into the forest, oblivious to our presence. I signaled to Pablo to strike. He hesitated, but then lunged forward, missing his target and hitting a tree instead. The boy's screams filled the air, so I acted quickly to silence him.
Pablo was visibly disappointed, sinking to the ground. I comforted him, reminding him that it takes time to master his new abilities. After disposing of the body, we burned it and scattered the ashes into the sea.
