Two Months Later
"Get closer together so everybody in the photo." I called out from behind my phone screen, arms aching
"Hurry up and take the picture." Cass complained, bag of Lays in her hands
By now she was heading into her second trimester and found a problem with everything. She was tired all the time and couldn't stop talking about food every chance she got.
"Why we gotta take pictures anyway." Amir frowned "Y'all ugly."
I couldn't help but laugh at how dumb my friends really were, they couldn't even take a couple photos without it being a problem.
"Okay one, two, thr-" I cut myself off "Sage you better smile."
He sucked his teeth before giving the most forced smile his face would allow, causing me to roll my eyes at his behavior.
I clicked away at my phone a couple times, snapping pictures of my beautiful family and friends. The frown soon wiping away from my lips as their beauty overshadowed my prior irritation.
"I love y'all." I pouted
"Nini gon' head and get in the picture, I'll take it for you." Aunty Reeca took the phone out my hands
"It's okay aunty, you don't have to." I insisted
"Don't start this nonsense Emani." She mugged "It's your birthday."
I made my way over and stood directly in front of Blade, who snaked his arms around my waist as we posed for a couple shots.
"Aight I'm done now." Amir complained, walking off
The group of people dispersed, everyone engaging in different conversations as they walked back into the party.
The day had been so eventful and I was happy to have my favorite people around me. Considering I was forced to throw a party, I was definitely happy I did it.
"C'mere, where you goin'?" Blade groaned as I attempted to leave his grip
"I'm bout to serve everybody they cake so they can leave." I chuckled "Trust me I love all my people, but I can't spend too much time with them all at once."
"I like how that sound, all this noise makin my head hurt." He complained
I laughed at him, kissing his forehead to relieve any pain he was feeling.
"You so dramatic." I shook my head
He grabbed onto me, both hands on either side of my waist and looked over my face, finally landing on my eyes.
"I got sum to give you." He smirked
"The same dick I get everyday?" I rolled my eyes playfully
"No." He frowned "Somethin real special that I know you gon' love."
