Forever with me

The sky was overcast, a fitting backdrop for the somber event.

The wind carried a chill that seeped into my bones, but I barely noticed it.

My focus was on the casket before me, adorned with white lilies and surrounded by friends and family who had come to pay their respects.

Shoto's funeral.

Beside me, Bakugo stood silently, his presence a grounding force.

He was my rock,  the one person who could slightly understand the turmoil within me. His hand found mine, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

I glanced at him, seeing the pain mirrored in his eyes.

The priest's voice droned on, but I couldn't focus on the words.

My mind was elsewhere, replaying memories of Shoto.

His calm demeanor, his unwavering loyalty, the way he always managed to keep me grounded.

The priest's words faded into the background as I stared at the casket, lost in my thoughts.

The air was thick with grief, an oppressive weight that seemed to press down on everyone gathered.

I felt Bakugo's hand on my back, a silent nudge of support.

He knew I needed to say something, to honor Shoto's memory with more than just silent unshed tears.

Taking a deep breath, I stood up, my legs feeling heavy as I made my way to the front. The murmurs around me quieted, all eyes turning to me.

"Shoto," I began, my voice trembling slightly. "Shoto was... more than a best friend. He was family. He stood by me through everything, never wavering, always strong. He had this... way of making you feel safe, no matter what was happening. He was my anchor."

I paused, taking a moment to collect myself. The memories were flooding back, each one a painful reminder of what we had lost.

"I remember the first time we met," I continued. "We were just kids, but even then, I knew he was someone special. He had this quiet strength, this unwavering determination. And as we grew up, that strength only grew. He became a force to be reckoned with, someone who would fight for what he believed in, no matter the cost."

My gaze dropped to the casket, and I fought the tears wanting to fall.

"Sho... he didn't deserve this. None of us did. But I want to promise you all something. I will carry his memory with me, every day. I will fight to honor him, to make sure that his legacy lives on. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten."

As the ceremony drew to a close, people began to step forward to place flowers on the casket.

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what came next. I walked up to the casket, a single white lily in hand.

I placed it gently on top, my fingers lingering for a moment.

"I'll find you again someday, Izuku. I promise."

"You better keep that promise" I whispered.

I stood there long after the coffin was embraced by the earth, Kacchan standing by my side holding my hand.

"Deku"

I turned to look at Dabi who was dressed in a nice suit.

Dabi dropped to a knee in front of me, his head bowed in a rare display of humility and sincerity.

The flickering light of the nearby torches cast dancing shadows across his face, highlighting the intensity of his expression.

"I pledge my blade to you, Deku," he declared, his voice unwavering and filled with conviction.

A soft, almost wistful smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I looked down at him.

The loyalty and dedication in his eyes were undeniable, yet I couldn't let his words go unchallenged.

"You mean you pledge your blade to the UA guild," I corrected gently.

But Dabi shook his head firmly, his gaze locking onto mine with a fierceness that took my breath away.

"No, I mean exactly what I said. I will follow you and only you, Deku," he repeated, his tone even more resolute.

"I don't care if the UA guild burns to the ground, as long as you're safe."

The weight of his words settled over me like a heavy cloak, their significance sinking in.

I looked around and drew a dagger from my waistband causing Kat to give me a serious side eye.

"Stand Dabi"

After he stood I racked the blade across my palm and extended my hand before me.

"My name is Izuku Midoriya"

Thats a wrap, also a bit of background info on that last bit.

Assassins keep there full name under lock and key but they don't really care about first names. So with Deku telling Dabi his full name he was basically calling him a brother, infront of Shotos grave.

The blood bit is because he is basically arming Dabi with a weapon that could kill Deku in the end and so the blood symbolises the life he is giving him.
