SYNOPSIS...
angel hasn't been human since 1966. she was bitten by her sadistic vampire lover, alfred alonzo, whom promised to love her for eternity if she joined the dark side. it didn't take long for angel to realize her vampire lover was full of lies and deception, and that he'd been turning hundreds of other humans with the intention to form his own personal vampire cult. alfred expected angel to be part of his cult, and to obey any and every demand he made.
in a desperate attempt for freedom and escape from her abusive "lover," angel left texas and fled to new york city. this made alfred resent angel so much, that he took it upon himself to get what he'd call "justice" by killing angel's entire family and childhood best friend, whom all still stayed in texas.
now, fifty-six years later, angel thought she finally found love again. she crossed paths with a royal vampire named red emrick, whom was loved and praised by nearly everyone who ever met her. unlike angel's past lover, red was compassionate and artistic, who had left behind her violent instincts, in the name of love. angel truly thought she had found the one she was meant to spend forever with... until one winter night, red was found dead inside her mansion with an axe buried in her skull.
now, angel had little left to live for. she was completely alone and her hope for true love had diminished at this point. not to mention that the entire vampire community accused her of being red's killer, causing her more pain and suffering. she'd been banned from all vampire coffee shops, which meant she was left to fend for herself when it came to feasting.
angel had completely given up on life, until she met a seemingly-naive human by the name of chase in a dark alleyway.
