"Yes ma I just got in" I said closing the door with my feet since my hands were filled with boxes

I rest the boxes down and removed the phone from my ear before sighing.

"Im just making sure you safe kyky" my mom spoke as I put the phone on speaker

"I know and I appreciate you for that but ma you literally been calling every 20 mins" I chuckled

"You know your mom don't got shit better to do Kyla" I heard my dad say which cause me to chuckle

"Shut up Michael" my mom said causing me to laugh

"I don't know why you didn't just let us come down there and help" she said

"She wanna be independent, let the girl be independent Amira" my dad said to her

"Ma I promise if I need any help you'll be the first one I call"

She sighed "okay"

"Alright ma I'll call you later on tonight"

"Okay baby, be safe and make sure you change them locks you don't know who else have a key to your apartment"

"I will the guy is coming to install the locks and ring camera in the morning" I said

"The morning ???" She question

"Yess that was the only time he had available last minute" I explained

"Okay I love you"  she said

" love you Ky" my dad added

"I love you guys too" I said before hanging up

I blew out a breath before looking around my new apartment and smiled. 

I'm 21 years old and I recently just moved from Texas to Atlanta.

Ive been staying with my parents stacking up my money until I was ready to branch off on my own.

I have my own clothing brand and I sell hair on the side.

Both businesses are flourishing and I felt so accomplished.

I moved to Atlanta mostly because I wanted a new scenery and to be closer to my manufacture.

I heard a knock on my door which cause me to scrunch my face.
