Chapter 06; Truths Out

After Jonah uses his hellfire powers to dry everyone(except for Samson, who just shook the water out of his coat), and a couple of hours of him and Dante setting up camp, including setting up a perimeter of magic runes carved into the ground around the campsite, Rapunzel gets started on wrapping her hair over the cut on Eugene's hand while remaining quiet.

"So, you're being strangely cryptic as you wrap your magic hair around my injured hand." Eugene points out as Rapunzel tightened her hair on Eugene's hand, which made him wince in pain.

"Sorry." Rapunzel apologized before warning him and the others, "Just... nobody freak out."

"You do remember me and Jonah here, who's skull went ablaze, fought a group of demons earlier today, right?" Dante asked rhetorically with a smile as Jonah rolls his eyes about the burning skull comment before they take their seats - Jonah sitting by Rapunzel to her left and Dante sitting next to Eugene to the latter's right.

Rapunzel smiled at that before sighing as she looks back to Eugene. Then she closes her eyes before she starts singing.

"Flower, Gleam and Glow"

Her hair starts glowing from the roots before the glow flows on, much to everyone else's growing astonishment, as she continues

"Let Your Power Shine, Make the Clock Reverse, Bring Back What Once Was Mine."

Needless to say, everyone was admiring her singing voice.

The glow flowed through Rapunzel's hair, which was laying around the camp, as it passed Pascal and Samson before the former, who's still smiling knowingly, points at his right claw, gesturing Eugene to look at his own hand while Rapunzel continues.

"Heal What Has Been Hurt, Change the Fates' Design. Save What Has Been Lost, Bring Back What Once Was Mine."

A still astonished Eugene looks at Rapunzel while she sings the incantation before looking back at Pascal, who nods a 'that's right' nod, before Rapunzel finishes.

"What Once Was Mine."

After the glow in Rapunzel's hair fades away, Eugene removed the bit from his hand to find, much to his shock and everyone else's wonder, the cut on the palm was completely healed like it never even happened. He turned his hand to show the cut was gone before turning it back to himself as starts getting weirded out. Just as he was about to freak out-

"Please don't freak out!" Rapunzel pleaded quickly with her hands held out.

Eugene tries his best to avoid freaking out as everyone else just stayed where they are not moving a muscle.

"I'm not freaking out! Are you guys freaking out? I'm just interested in your hair and the magical qualities that it possesses!" He reassures the girl quickly with a forced smile. "How long has it been doing that, exactly?"

"Forever, I guess." Rapunzel responds with a smile of relief on her face before getting serious as she explains her gift to her newfound friends, "Mother said that when I was a baby, people tried to cut it. They wanted the power for themselves."

Then, she shows the possibly inch and a half long lock of brown hair on the base of her head as she continues, "But once it's cut, it turns brown and loses it's power. A gift like that has to be protected."
