I miss my youth years
My childhood
Constantly craving the mulch underneath my feet
The burning hot swing-set at the park in the summer that I could hardly wait to sit on
The jungle gym bars gripped tightly by my, once, little hands
Tag with the neighborhood kids, chasing one another from Dawn til Dusk
The feeling of knowing dinner is ready at home once the light posts came on
Rolling up and down the dewy grass til my skin stained green
Leap frog on the pavement of the basketball court
The sound of all the bouncing basketballs
My fathers truck pulling up in the driveway while my mother shouts my name
The warmth and comfort of my childhood bed sheets
And the smell of my childhood home halls
To be young again
To be an adult is to cherish the ages you've outgrown
To be grown was to once be young
