Chapter 18

"So what happened nanga ate Shai? Gosh I think you should keep your money away. Baka  mamaya magpalibre si Aza!" Ayu protested while we're walking back to the training grounds.

Kakatapos lang ng mission namin ni Kei. Natanggap namin yung pera kanina, its 50,000. He wanted me to take all of it pero hindi fair. Kaya nakipagsagutan muna ako sakanya. In the end ginawa naming 50/50.

The headmaster summoned him kaya susunod nalang daw siya.

"Nothing much happened. Na-shock lang ako. Yun lang." I shrugged.

"Did you get any leads with regards dun sa parents mo?" Napatigil ako sa paglalakad.

Shit.

I forgot!

"I forgot something Ayu. Hold on." Tumakbo ako paalis. I have to calm myself down!

How did I forget about such matters?!

Binaba ko yung dala ko na purse sa gilid ng sink as i looked at myself in front of the comfort room's mirror. I held my head. "Shai you're such an idiot.." I pulled my hair.

Maybe masyado akong kinabahan kaya ganon.

Right.

You can do better next time Shai. Don't worry too much.

I tried to gaslight myself but the guilt was eating me. Ang ginawa ko ay tumawag nalang ako kila lola para kamustahin sila para naman maibsan yung guilt ko. "Hi la!" I cheerfully said.

[Oh anak! Napatawag ka? Jusko saglit lang ha at nagaayos ako ng hapag.]

"La, kamusta naman kayo dyan?" I asked.

[Ayos lang naman apo. Ikaw ba? Baka ika'y nangangayayat na naman Shaira ha. Baka hindi mona ipinagtatabi ng pera ang sarili mo] Parang nagtatampong sabmit nito.

"Nagtatabi pa naman ako ng pang sarili ko la. Mas malaki lang ang ibinibigay ko sainyo kasi mas kailangan niyo." I smiled.

[Nako nako nako. Kami'y mawawala't mawawala din Shaira apo. Kahit paulanan mo kami ng pera, basta oras na namin ay oras na namin.] Lola chuckled which made my tears fall.

"La, ayoko ng ganyan. Wag mo munang sinasabi sakin yan." I sighed. "Magpapadala ulit ako la, ikamusta mo nalang ako kay lolo."

[Osige anak, mag ingat ka ha? mahal ka ni lola] She made a kiss sound kaya natawa ako.

"Mahal ko rin kayo la." I smiled to myself as she ended the call.

My grandmother somehow helped me to relax. Shai, you need to find your parents as soon as possible. Hindi magtatagal ng habang buhay sila lola dito.

"Find them Shai." I whispered to myself.

After convincing myself. I went out of the bathroom.

Andon pala si Kei. He was leaning against the wall. "Shai do we have a problem?" He gently held my arm.

"Did you eavesdrop?" I asked him, worried not for him but for myself.

"I did not mean to okay? I only heard you saying 'Find them'. Who are we trying to find, mon amour?" He hugged me as his hand started to rub my back.

Parang bine-baby.

But should I tell him? I mean, he's my boyfriend. It's only fair if we share some information about our families, right?

"I'm looking for my parents." I whispered. "They dissapeared after the fame. They didn't even visit my sister during her wake." I forced a laugh, almost crying.

He just hugged me tighter "I'm sorry.." He whispered before he gave the top of my head a kiss.

"What about you..? Status with your parents?" I carefully asked. I didn't want to push buttons.

He suddenly stopped as his breathing became ragged. "I lost my family... A long time ago..." He chuckled but pain was evident in the way he spoke "I'm living with my ninang... My mom and dad's best friend." He sighed.

I suddenly felt bad for him.

Dahan dahan niya akong hinatak para humiga. He hugged me while I was laying on his chest. Nakasandal naman siya sa head board. "It must be tough." I blurted out while I was playing with his hand.

"It sure is." He laughed a little "But I cannot do anything about it. I can't turn back time. And I would not if I could." He pulled me closer to him.

"Hmm? Why is that?" I curiously asked.

"If I did not have to suffer like that... I wouldn't have met you here." He smiled at me. And that smile looked so pure and genuine.

A smile crept on my lips as well before I faced him. "I love you Kei." I cupped his cheeks.

I saw how his cheeks started to turn red. Mapusyaw kasi ang balat niya, ako naman ay morena.

"I love you more." He replied before kissing the tip of my nose.

Bigla namang may kumalampag sa pinto ng kwarto niya. "Hala, sorry to ruin your alone time. Ate Shai. Hinahanap tayo ni Aza sa house!" Ayu exclaimed. Halatang excited.

I looked at Kei, apologizing. He just ruffled my hair before giving me a smack kiss. "Go. Nic's inviting me over for a drink. Take care Shai." He gave me a smile.

"Bye! I'll call you later!" I waved my hand as I was dragged by Ayu outside. "Ayu! Why do seem so excited?"

She looked at me while trying to contain her emotions. She was obviously over the moon. "Ate Shai, Versace just sent me a letter!" Nagtatalon siya kaya pati ako'y natuwa.

"Gagi totoo ba?!" Nakipagtiliian ako sakanya.

"Yes! Gosh! This is huge!" Tuwang tuwang sabi niya. Agad agad kaming umuwi.

"This is Versace. Whole heartedly inviting Miss Ayumi Amythyst Ruiz to be one of our models for the upcoming Grand Walk of Fame!" Tumili si Ayu sa tuwa pagkabasa sa letter. Angsabi sa letter ay next year pa naman daw since its a huge event.

"Hoy shit ang galing ng bebe ko!" tuwang tuwa ding sabi ni Aza sabay buhat kay Ayu. She spinned her on the air, proudly.

Agad silang nag-ayaang uminom. I was worried nung inaya nila si Fran! ako lang ang nakakaalam na she got shot.

Inaantabayanan ko yung reply ni Fran sa gc.

Omfh:

Sorryyy, I can't join you guys! I have plans for the evening e. Ako nalang magpapareserve ng table nyo! Ingats!!!

I sighed in relief.

"Magtatampo ako kay Ecks." Reklamo ni Aza.

"Di bagay sayo. Asim." Pambara ko sabay takbo sa kwarto ko para gumayak na. I was laughing while she's protesting.

For a moment, I realized I was able to push all my worries away. I was living again.

It felt good.

While we're on the way. Pinakekwentuhan namin yung narecieve ni Ayu.

I'm so proud!

At first. All Ayu wanted to do was design and create dresses but as time passed by, she slowly developed interest in modeling.

She'll be a good model. She has a great height. She's around 5'7.  I'm 5'6. Aza is 5'10, Margaux and Yanna are around 5'6 while Fran is 5'8.

We're tall, nagkakataon lang talaga na may mas matangkad samin. Who I think would pass as a model as well is Aza and Fran because they have this perfect prominent shoulders. Fran has a strong aura na damang dama mo kahit daanan kalang, same goes for Aza but Aza was a little playful so mas intimidating si Fran. But they're not into modeling at all.

Talk about sayang.

As we arrived at the bar. The music was defining.

"To Ayumi my love!" Aza raised her glass tsaka kami nagcheers.

"To Ayumi!" We all exclaimed and drank our asses off.
