Part 42: Do What my Wife Wants

After Jake left, Asher got a call and he got up to walk outside. Just as the others were getting ready to leave the room, Jake rushed inside once again while dragging Asher with him and closed the door with a loud bang. Everyone was startled and Crystal yelled "Jake what the fuck is wrong with you today?! Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?! Your seriously so annoying today! Gosh!! Like since morning—" Crystal was no longer able to yell as Jake moved towards with long steps and covered her mouth with his hand to prevent her from yelling. Though Jake didn't observe her face, Crystal was flustered. Blood rushed to her cheeks and her eyes grew wide as she looked in shock with the sudden close contact. Her heart beat rapidly increased and she wondered if he could hear it too. Jake's left hand was surrounded around her shoulder and his right hand was on her mouth to prevent someone from hearing her voice as he was looking at the door. Her breathing became uneven as her eyes moved towards everyone else in the room. As soon as they felt her glance on them, Nolan and Nickolas pretended to be discussing about work. Jasmine and Sara were talking about the wedding and Lucas was texting someone in his phone. Slowly, her eyes landed on Asher who was looking at her intensely. He was looking straight into her eyes, and yet, she couldn't understand the emotion in his eyes. Was he feeling Jealous? Was it anger that she saw in his eyes? Or was it rage? Once that someone was gone, Jake looked back towards Crystal. Crystal's gaze averted from Asher's eyes to Jake's eyes. Jake was looking into her eyes as if her was trying to capture her soul and never let go of it from his prison. For some reason, she was mesmerised by his eyes. It was as if she was under a spell. Slowly, he let go of her and Crystal instantly moved back. 

Gathering his composure, Jake cleared his throat and began explaining the reason for his actions earlier "When I walked out, I saw something absolutely unbelievable. I almost felt my eyes bleed." Nolan raised his eyebrows "What did you see?" "My sister and Ryan were walking hand in hand, talking about something. Not only that, but my sister was laughing and blushing and Ryan was smiling ear to ear." At first there was no reaction from anyone. As a moment passed, Sara, Crystal, Jasmine, Asher and even Lucas gasped. "They were WHAT?! ARE YOU SURE?! WHAT IN THE WORLD?!" Nolan and Nickolas were normal. Nickolas shrugged "They aren't acting at this point." Nolan looked at his younger brother "You were outside, didn't you see them?" "No. I was busy talking on the phone." He looked at Crystal "I need to discuss something about our assessment after this." Crystal nodded. Jake warned everyone once again "Guys be very careful. Ryan and Amara shouldn't spot us till evening. Or they would leave the next moment." Everyone nodded seriously. Just then, Lucas's phone rang. He looked at the others "It's President Wood." He answered it and spoke without giving her a chance to speak "What a pleasure it is to hear your voice, President Wood!" Amara's cold voice resounded throughout the room as she was on speaker "Only if you let me speak. How far did the dresses come?" "Oh they're almost ready!" "What about Crystal's dress? Make sure to get it ready first. I will get her at the end of this week to let her try it on. Mess it up and you would regret coming into this world." Lucas chuckled "President Wood, your threats don't work on me." He heard Ryan's voice "I'm pretty sure you will regret it once she makes her threats applicable." He acted surprised "Ryan? Man are you both together?" "Do what my wife wants." And with that, the call was cut. Lucas put back the phone in his pocket and looked at Crystal "Your dress is all ready." Crystal squealed "My sis-in-law is the best!!" Jasmine yelled "Guys!!" Everyone's attention shifted towards her. She remarked "Did you notice how Brother Ryan called President Wood as his 'Wife'?" Realisation hit everyone. Sara muttered "Something is seriously going on." But everyone heard it. They decided to give it some time and see what happens. And with that, everyone made sure that the cold stones were gone before dispersing into their respective rooms.
