"why? I mean, are you sure?" I asked, taking a seat beside Aecha as I gently grabbed the bag of Kkwabaegi from her. "I wouldn't share if you decide to change your mind."

"Alright. I'm cutting down on my sweets." She sighed, taking her chin in her palms. "Just planning to go on blind dates. I'm already 28 but have never tried dating."

"Glad that you realize you're aging. Fighting!" I forced out a smile and raised my hands up in a fist before opening the bag.

She scoffed, "as if you're still a teenager. You should get to know Sunghoon more, he's a nice guy."

I nodded reluctantly. Shall I tell her that I already know everything about him? For once I thought I could but my other thoughts didn't allow me to.
She knows none of my friends, and none of my friends know about her. It's better for things to be the same.

The two of us might seem close as sisters but the love between us is only little, we don't open up to each other.
She left for Seoul, leaving me behind in Suwon si. We didn't see each other for 5 years, I started hating her for not coming back and the distance between us grew each day.
The death of our parents did bring us together but our hearts couldn't get any closer. The distance between us remained the same.

I looked up at her wondering, would things have stayed the same if she didn't leave? Would we still be complete as a family if she lived with us?

That's how we've been living together for the past seven years, with unsaid words and heavy feelings deep in our chest that somehow separate us from coming as one.

My hands slowly traced the cover of Jiyeon's diary as I was craving for her warm presence beside me. I was feeling so vulnerable that even having the annoying mouth of Jaeyun by my side wouldn't feel that bad, he could at least make me laugh but that wasn't possible either.

I again couldn't stop thinking about the way Aecha abandoned us for the glamourous city of Seoul and this mere thought was bringing back the same old feeling.

I sighed as my hands gradually went to pick up my diary beside me. Writing's slowly becoming my escape, my safe place.
I press my lips together and began to write •••

“   After we left Sunghoon's place, the useless rambling of Jiyeon and Jaeyun arose as I walked behind them, covering my ears because they were very loud.

"How could you go to a stranger's house all alone, Seohyun?" Jaeyun suddenly turned back, causing me to bump into him.

"Right! How could you?" Jiyeon agreed, aggressively nodding her head as I looked up at her while rubbing my head. She's also taking his side now?
