THERES A MOMENT
...in every kids life when you feel like anything's possible. When you feel like you got the total mojo. You could, I don't know, free climb El Capitan, land on mars, or, uh...get elected as president.

The whole world's there for the taking if you've got the sack to go for it. And then, when you least expect it.

—THE TEENS
...stared at the screen as the wreckage of the Royal Merchant emerged gradually as John B's face fell.

He sighs, "it's not there. Look, just-just pull the drone up." His words stammering as thunder rumbles loudly through the sky. Sighing as he silently cursed at himself.

"Look, we can do another pass. Recharge the battery." Pope suggested, trying to find a way to reassure him. "We can- we can go back down."

Madison shook her head, "there's nothing down there, Pope." She watched her brother who began to run his hands through his hair. Once again, knowing that he does that when he's stressed or angry.

"We've done it three times. There's nothing there!" JJ called out, raising his voice to become louder than the rumbling of the thunder. He was abruptly cut off by Kiara.

"Shut up!"

"What? It's true!" JJ defended himself.

Madison also nodded, "He's right. There's absolutely nothing down there, just a wrecked ship!" Madison shouted over the thunder, backing up JJ.

"Just shut up, Madison!" Kiara shouted, causing Madison to raise her eyebrow, wondering who in the hell is she talking to like that.

"The gold could be buried. We don't know!" Kie suggested with a shrug.

"If it was there, it would've been found on the metal detector, okay?!" John B informed as he faced his friends. "Somebody beat us to it."

"Or it was never there." Both Madison and Jj spoke in unison under their breath.

The rest of the teens, their faces falling with disappointment, glanced at each other in dismay.

—AFTER
...Madison and John B decided to head home. They both had sat in silence on the boat. The only thing that can be heard was the rumbling of their boat hitting the water.
