CHAPTER TEN

Angel and Draco were staring at each other. To the others, it seemed very weird, but to them, it was perfectly normal. They were conversing not using magic but just their eyes. They had been rivals long enough to know the other's every action and what it meant.

Currently, they were having a calm argument about who would have to ask Lucius if he dyes his hair when they arrived back at Malfoy Manor. Neither could actually remember why they were going to ask, but both held too much pride to mention that.

Pansy, rightfully so, had a weirded-out expression on her face. "Should we stop them or what?"

Blaise, however, thought that this was absolutely hilarious and encouraged them. "No, I want to see how this ends, or if one throws the other out the window."

The friends had finished school for the year and were now heading home for Yule break on the Hogwarts Express. While Pansy was confused, trying to work out what the (basically) siblings were arguing about, Luna was trying to stop them, and Blaise was trying to stop her. Daphne and Theo were silently making bets on what would happen and who would win.

Finally, after two more minutes of staring, Draco exclaimed, "Ha! I win. You have to do it."

Angel pouted as Draco teased her, still leaving the others clueless about what the argument was about.

The group was now all silently doing their own things. Luna and Pansy were conversing in a corner, Daphne was asleep on Blaise's shoulder, and Angel had kicked Draco in the face again as she laid on his and Theo's laps.

As the train suddenly came to a halt, Angel went flying off the two boys' laps and rolled onto the floor. She landed with a thud and didn't move for a good five seconds, regretting life altogether. "Ow."

Draco and Blaise began laughing at her misery while everyone else just stood up, grabbing their things, being careful not to step on Angel. Luna, being the absolute gift from God that she was, helped Angel up and gave her her trunk.

They all exited the train together, but the further they walked to the station, the more the teens split off, going to their own parents. The four girls all stood in a group, Draco by their side, having been kicked out of their circle by Angel.

"You'll remember to owl me, okay? You all know I'm at Malfoy Manor, so that's where they'll need to go." Angel smiled at her friends as they all hugged and parted ways. Left alone with Draco, she linked their arms, and they walked toward Narcissa, who was waiting for them.

"Cissa!" Angel exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around the woman. Angel had never had a mother figure in her life, and Narcissa was very quickly becoming one. The young girl pulled back slightly, giving Narcissa a once-over. "You look great!"

The woman smiled warmly at Angel, turning to give her son a hug as well. The Malfoy matriarch, always having wanted a daughter, admired the girl. She didn't know exactly what Angel had gone through but hoped one day she would open up and see her and Lucius as somewhat parental figures.

Narcissa held out both of her arms for each child to grab as she apparated them back to the manor. As they landed, Draco recoiled slightly, but Angel stood tall, though she felt slightly sick to her stomach.

"Angel, we still haven't had time to decorate your room, so I was hoping we could do that sometime this holiday?" The girl in question smiled brightly at the prospect of getting a chance to spend time with her.

"That would be amazing, thank you, Cissa." With that, Draco and Angel walked off, each heading to their rooms, which were directly opposite each other's.

once again this is a shorter chapter so I am thinking I might do shorter chapters but have more of them. Anyway, we will see how that works out.
