10: Core of Chaos

A new core has taken control of the weather factory, and despite months of effort, SSundee's family has been unable to remove it. This core, reminiscent of the reactor in Among Us but far more powerful, has disrupted the members' abilities at headquarters, leaving them needing to channel their emotions to activate their powers.

SSundee discovered through extensive research in the weather factory manuals that the core is gradually affecting several weather nodes.

"Is there any way to get rid of it despite your attempts to budge it?" Sigils asked.

"We'd need at least two islands to break it. One of them has to be the Regulated Island, which collapsed, so we might need to use two other islands, or friendship, which we all suck, or making two new islands," Biffle explained.

"How do you know that for sure?" SSundee inquired.

"Was it in the manuals?" Sigils wondered.

"Uh, yeah? How else would I know?" Biffle replied.

"I knew making you read the manuals was a good idea!" Sigils cheered.

"But all the islands lack energy since the main core weather orb isn't in the pedestal. How would that work?" SSundee asked.

"I mean, I have it right now, but I'm not sure how to use it," Sigils said.

"What if there's a place on one of the islands to put the core weather orb? My wife saw something like that once, but she thought it was just for decoration," SSundee suggested.

"Is it on one island or all of them?" Sigils asked.

"She didn't say which one, but I think it's Windy Breeze Island to the west of headquarters. Or maybe Frosted Flame Island, I'm not sure," SSundee guessed.

"So it's either my island or Henwy's. As long as we don't lose those islands, we're fine, right?" Sigils asked.

"Here's the thing. If the Regulated Island collapses, headquarters members slowly lose their powers until their individual islands collapse. If all islands are lost, severe natural disasters occur," SSundee explained.

"Wait. If my island is gone, does that mean... I've lost the power to control sunny weather?" Sigils asked, worried. "Oh no..."

"And if your island's gone, then natural disasters related to sunny weather are definitely happening," SSundee added, imagining the worst.

Back at headquarters, Henwy and Nico watched Africa face chaos: droughts, landslides, and wildfires spread across Africa and parts of the US.

"Well, that's definitely not my doing," Henwy said, breaking the silence.

"This sounds like a job for the professionals," Nico quipped, calling for help.
