Admire

I stopped in my tracks. How did he know it was me? I hadn't given him a single picture of myself, nor had we met in person. I don't even post pictures on social media. Could he know me from the past?

"Uh, no, I wasn't there,"

"Oh? Where are you now then?"

Why does he type so fast?

"At my house..."

"Oh... Do you know where I am?"

"Where?"

"Drinking some coffee behind you."

I froze. He had to be joking, right? I chuckled nervously and glanced over my shoulder, just to play along. But then I saw him-a guy with brunette hair, wearing a beige shirt. Oh, no. He was really behind me.

"Behind me? You're joking, right?"

Oh god my hand is shaking.

"I want to know who just got shocked after seeing me,"

"Um, I think you're mistaking me for someone else,"

"Isn't that my username? Yeah, it is,"

I looked back again, more deliberately this time. He was wearing spectacles, which explained how he could see everything I was typing. He caught my eye, and for a brief moment, he smiled. There was a guitar propped up behind him.

"Oh, um, you're a guitarist?"

"Yeah"

"Wow..."

"Funny that we're so close but still texting,"

"You want to talk?"

"No, let me admire you from afar"

I turned around again, and sure enough, he was still looking at me. Should I go over and talk to him? But I was terrible at real-life conversations. And besides, he said he wanted to admire me from afar. Maybe it was best if I just stayed put.

"Let's go, I'm done paying," I said abruptly, grabbing my friend's hand.

"Oh god, why did you run like that?" she asked, struggling to keep up as we bolted out of the restaurant.

"He was there," I said breathlessly.

"He? Wait, you mean JAEHUN??" Her voice rose in excitement.

"Don't be so loud!" I hissed, glancing around nervously.

"Oh my-seriously? I wanted to see him again... Did he talk to you?"

"Um, no..." I lied, feeling my face flush.

"Why not? He should've talked to you... oh, sorry, he doesn't know-"

"He recognized me," I cut her off.

"Wait, what? Did you send him any pictures?"

"No..."

"Then how did he recognize you?"

"I don't know..."

"Maybe he's seen you before, somewhere?" she suggested, her eyes narrowing in thought.

I stayed silent, my mind racing. How could he have known me? Was he some kind of stalker? Did he want something from me?

"Yume, cheer up! It's fine... We'll figure out the mystery behind it," she said, squeezing my hand reassuringly.

"I guess..." I murmured, not entirely convinced.

"You're thinking about how to reply to him, right?" she asked, her voice teasing.

"Yea-wait, how do you know?" I asked, turning to her in surprise.

"Hm hm, I've got a good brain," she said, tapping her temple with a grin.

"Uh, whatever," I muttered, rolling my eyes.

"Let's do the prank tonight," she suggested suddenly, her eyes lighting up.

"Tonight?" I repeated, caught off guard.

"Yup! Would you mind if I sleep over at your place?" she asked, practically bouncing with excitement.

"Uh, no, I don't mind," I replied, still trying to process everything.

"Okay then! Let's go. We're going to have so much fun today!" she exclaimed, pulling me along.

As we walked, my thoughts kept drifting back to Jaehun. Who was he really? And more importantly, how did he know me? The more I thought about it, the more determined I became to find out. But for now, I had to focus on tonight. Whatever my friend had planned, it was sure to be a distraction from the confusion swirling in my mind.
