Jungkook's eyes drifted away from Taehyung's face, his gaze falling on some distant point beyond the window. His expression turned introspective, his brow furrowed in thought.Taehyung watched him, curiosity getting the better of him. What was Jungkook thinking about? Was it something to do with the company, or was it something more personal?
As the moments ticked by, Jungkook's eyes never left their distant focus. His breathing slowed, his chest barely rising and falling. He seemed to be a thousand miles away, lost in a world of his own thoughts.
The silence between them grew thicker, until Taehyung felt compelled to speak up.
"Sir?"
"Jungkook?" he ventured, his voice soft.
But Jungkook didn't respond. He didn't even flinch. He just kept staring into the distance, his eyes fixed on something only he could see.
Taehyung felt a shiver run down his spine. What was going on in Jungkook's mind? And how could he reach him?
Taehyung's voice seemed to fade into the background as Jungkook's thoughts consumed him. Memories long buried began to resurface, like whispers from the past.
He remembered a time when he was young, full of hope and dreams. A time when he believed in love and happiness. A time when he had someone by his side, someone who made his heart sing.
But that was all taken away, ripped from his grasp in a cruel twist of fate. And now, he was left with only his thoughts, haunting him like a ghost.
Just as Jungkook's eyes began to glaze over, a knock at the door snapped him back to reality.
"Come in," he called out, his voice sharp and commanding.
Namjoon stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room before landing on Taehyung. His gaze lingered, a mixture of surprise and curiosity etched on his face.
Namjoon's eyes darted to Jungkook, seeking confirmation that Taehyung was indeed real and not just a hallucination.
He reached out with his mind, using their secret mind link to ask Jungkook: "Is it really him? Is Tae bear truly here?"
Jungkook's expression remained neutral, but he nodded almost imperceptibly. "Yes, hyung. He's here. Taehyung is home. He's back where he belongs ."
Namjoon's eyes widened slightly at the possessive tone in Jungkook's voice, but he said nothing. Instead, he approached Taehyung, his eyes never leaving his face.
Taehyung, sensing Namjoon's gaze, turned to face him. Their eyes met, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Namjoon's expression was unreadable, but Taehyung felt a shiver run down his spine.
Jungkook again mind link namjoon: "Namjoon hyung he still doesn't know about his past life. Control your emotions, hyung. We don't want to overwhelm him."
Namjoon's face fell, his eyes dimming with disappointment. He took a deep breath, composing himself before approaching Taehyung.
"Greetings, Taehyung."
Taehyung, sensing the tension, bowed his head respectfully. "Greetings, sir. I am Taehyung, new secretary."
Namjoon's eyes widened slightly at the formal address, his heart aching at the distance between them. "Ah, Taehyung, don't call me 'sir'. Hyung is fine. We're... colleagues."
Taehyung's eyes flickered with confusion, but he nodded. "Yes, Sir. I mean, Namjoon-hyung."
Namjoon's face softened, a small smile playing on his lips. "Just hyung is fine, Taehyung. We'll get to know each other soon enough."
