Chapter fifty seven: Deny Deny Deny
Rain Moretti
Food. All I could think about was food. S'mores, hot chocolate, and exotic fruits, my cravings were endless. But, with a sudden jolt, my bladder reminded me that it was time to prioritise more pressing matters.
As I slowly opened my eyes, the vivid images of my food dream began to fade, leaving behind a lingering craving for something sweet and savory. I woke up with the faint remembrance of myself falling unconscious while vaguely being able to recollect the events of last night. I tried to sit up, but a sudden wave of nausea washed over me, forcing me to lay back down.
Morning sickness was still an unwelcome companion, but I knew it was a small price to pay for the little bean growing inside me.
As I was lost in thought, I felt a gentle nudge against my leg. Pup Leo was staring at me with his big brown eyes which seemed to understand my struggles, as he playfully wagged his tail. I stroked his fur, grateful for the comforting presence.
After a few deep breaths, I mustered the strength to get out of bed. My bladder was protesting, and I knew I had to hurry. I sprinted towards the bathroom, Pup Leo by my side, and relieved myself of the morning's discomfort.
After taking care of my business, I decided to a refreshing shower, feeling revitalized as I stepped out. As I gazed into the mirror, and I noticed a subtle change - my belly was starting to show, and it no longer looked like I was bloated.
Excitement bubbled within me as I felt my little bean stir, as if responding to my gaze.
Just then, Angelo appeared behind me, his hands gently cradling my growing belly. "She's growing," he whispered, his warm breath tickling my neck, earning a soft giggle from me.
"That's so random," I said, chuckling. "Why are you saying that?"
"Because you're showing, and I could tell from the bump," he replied matter-of-factly.
"Really? Is it big?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.
"Not yet, but you will be in a matter of weeks," he said with a smile. "And we'll have to share the news with the family soon."
I tensed at the mention of sharing the news with the family. Angelo's smile faltered, and he noticed my unease. "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice soft and concerned.
I hesitated, unsure of how to express my worries. "Nothing."
I went to get dressed, my mind still preoccupied with the thought of sharing our news with my family. As I rummaged through my closet, I stumbled upon a loose-fitting dress that would accommodate my growing belly and looked quite warm. I slipped it on, feeling a sense of comfort in the soft fabric.
I was about to ask Angelo something when I realized that he was already downstairs.
I took a deep breath, headed downstairs, not certain of what I would encounter.
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and cooked breakfast filled the air, making my stomach growl with hunger. I entered the dining room, where the family, including half of the fucking world was already seated and took my seat amongst the very evident tension. Everyone on the table say fiddling and fidgeting with items on the table, neither of them speaking nor picking up a fork to eat. The dead silence was uncomfortable to say the least and nobody seemed to be making an attempt to break it.
