Being eight months pregnant was excruciating work. Being eight months pregnant and trying to create a lesson plan that didn't make Minnie roll her eyes and kick me out of her office was even harder. I laid my head on the kitchen table while Evan poured me a cup of tea.

"It can't be all bad." He said as he sat down beside me. He grabbed some of my papers. I lifted my head barely.

"Everything is too graphic, too vague, too short, too long, Evan, she wants my daughter to grow up without a mother. She'll kill me from stress." He laughed lightly.

"What'd we learn in transfigurations? Werewolves, animagus, charms?" I nodded. "Do you really think Minnie is going to restrict you that much in the classroom? Just write up what she wants and then do what you want." I looked over at him.

"When did you grow a brain?" I joked. He laughed.

"About the time you got pregnant and lost yours."  I laughed. The front door opened and slammed. I looked at Evan in a panic, he grabbed his wand and waited, moving in front of me. Lily appeared in the doorway to the kitchen, a letter in hand.

"What's up Lilypad?" I asked softly. She gave me a bitter smile.

"Did you know my sister is married?" My jaw dropped.

"I didn't even know you had a sister." Evan said, I kicked him under the table.

"Has been for a while. Married, with a kid!"

"I'm sorry Lil," I offered while she sat down. I slid her my tea. "I don't know what I'd do if I didn't know all of Jamie's life."

"I just- I don't even know what to do." She groaned as she sipped the tea. I sighed.

"I wish I knew what to tell you, babe."

"It's just so hard, having such a divide." She explained. Evan looked up.

"I'm lost." He admitted. Lily chuckled.

"When are you not?" He stuck his tongue out at her. "I have a sister back in the Muggle world. She's not magic. When we were kids, it was cool to her at first— the things I could do, but one day it just wasn't anymore. I was a freak. Then, I left. We wrote often for first year, second we kept in touch, third was the last year I went home for the holidays, next thing I knew I didn't talk to her until I graduated." She shrugged at that end as if to say "and then I found out she's married and has a kid, but I guess I never filled her in either." Evan just nodded.

"You miss her?" He asked. She thought for a moment. I knew the answer was yes. I'd held her through one too many breakdowns about Petunia.

"I miss who she used to be. How things used to be." She explained. He nodded.

"I'm sorry Lils. That sucks." He offered. She smiled sadly.

"I just can't believe neither of us told the other we had kids."

"I can believe you didn't write home about James though." I joked. She chuckled.

"Oh, he's not that bad!"

"So when are you telling mum and dad that Lily is pregnant?" I asked James as we sat on his couch. He shrugged.

"Figure mum will notice." I rolled my eyes.

"Mum's probably already noticed." I informed him as I rolled the ball back to Vega. Harry snatched it and ran around the living room, Vega on his tail.

"He'll make a fit seeker one day." I shoved James' arm. He made a pained noise. "You're so lucky you're pregnant."

"James Fleamont Potter!" I declared. He sunk further into the couch.

"Can I just ring them?" I shook my head. He groaned.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" He smiled wide.

"A girl."

"Rose?" I asked. "Or has Lily chosen a different flower since our time at school?"

"Rose." He confirmed.

"Rose Lily?" He shook his head.

"Lily thought that was cheesy."

"So what will it be?" He shrugged.

"I like Joy, Lily hasn't settled yet." I nodded.

"Can you believe we're all starting families?" I asked. He laughed.

"I can't believe Marlene Mckinnon is having Sirius Black's baby." I laughed harder.

"Merlin! That sounds awful!" We both laughed until our sides hurt. Harry and Vega ran back into the room. I watched the two of them for a moment.

"He will make a fit seeker one day."

i'm in such a writing slump with this & the band i'm so sorry!! in my defense however i asked if yall wanted a modern day college au story & was told you would and i started that if you'd like it i can post a bit of it. i've also been working on a reg & novas kid story with the golden trio so that will be up once i finish this. i'm so sorry for how few & far between updates have been for a while, i truly don't know where i want this to go anymore lol.
