Even though they had barely been apart, Jacob was incredibly glad that their time together could be extended. Having Olivia at his first couple races would be the support he needed. With these plans, he was now immensely looking forward to the week ahead.
However, before it came to Liv's arrival in England, he had two induction days filled with media responsibilities and administrative tasks.
His first day at the McLaren Headquarters began with a comprehensive orientation session. He was greeted by Zak Brown, the CEO of McLaren Racing, and other senior team members. They gave him a detailed overview of the team's history, values, and expectations.
"Welcome to McLaren, Jake. We're thrilled to have you on board," Zak said, shaking Jacob's hand firmly, "today will be all about getting you settled in and familiar with our operations."
Jacob was then introduced to the communications team, who outlined the day's schedule, packed with media duties. He was handed a neatly organised folder containing his itinerary, important contacts, and guidelines for interacting with the media.
The first stop was the team's state-of-the-art photography studio. Jake donned his new McLaren racing suit, the iconic papaya colours. He posed for a series of photographs that would be used for promotional materials, social media, and press releases.
"Show us the determination in your eyes." the photographer encouraged. Jacob obliged, projecting as much confidence as he could.
After the photos in the studio, they also took photos out at the racetrack they had in their HQ. At the end of the photoshoot Jake was emailed all the photographs so he could post it on social media.
Next, a filming crew arrived to shoot introductory videos. These clips would be used across various platforms to introduce Jacob to the McLaren fanbase. He recorded a series of greetings, answered questions about his journey, and shared his goals for the upcoming season.
"Hi everyone, I'm Jake Thompson, and I'm thrilled to be joining McLaren Racing this season. I can't wait to get on track and push the limits with this incredible team." he said, his enthusiasm evident.
