LUSAIL, QATAR. NOVEMBER 2026.

Coming into the penultimate race of the season, Jake was seven points off Thierry in the standings meaning that he needed to outperform his biggest rival at the moment to keep him in the running for the championship. His relationship with the McLaren team had healed slightly, as he said previously, he did speak to Andrea and Lando under calmer circumstances where emotions weren't high and there was a mutual level of understanding. However, Lando was still acting childish and hadn't completely gotten over it.

In McLaren's perspective, they had two promising drivers that they wanted to keep the two to ensure a solid future for the team. They understood that in this current season, Jake should be their main priority despite Lando being there for longer and it reassured Jake to hear from the team that for the final two races, priority would be for him and to help him get the championship. It was also tight for the constructors, Ferrari and McLaren were locked in a tight battle and unfortunately for McLaren, Sainz had been outperforming Lando meaning that the prestigious Italian team looked set to win the constructors'.

Jake and Olivia arrived on the Tuesday meaning they had a couple days to themselves before they were thrusted into the busy nature of a race weekend. In the early mornings the two would head to the gym together as Jake's training was constant - with a plan designed to maintain his physical condition.

Sometimes Olivia would try her hand at his workouts but other times she would just stick to her own routine. Today, after a short run on the treadmill, the two were doing a simple leg workout together.

"Come on, Liv, you got this!" Jake encouraged as Olivia pushed through a set of squats.

"Easy for you to say, you can squat double this!" she shot back playfully, a determined smile on her face.

Jake laughed, helping Liv re-rack the bar once her set was over.

After their workout, they spent time in the sauna, letting the heat relax their muscles. "I'm proud of you, you know." Jake said, breaking the comfortable silence.

Olivia turned her head, a soft smile on her lips. "For what?"

"For everything. For supporting me, for putting up with all this craziness, for being you."

She reached over and squeezed his hand. "And I'm proud of you too. You've come so far, Jake. Just a couple more races, and you could be world champion."

He nodded, the weight of her words settling over him. "Yeah, but Thierry's not making it easy. I'm seven points behind. This race is make or break."

"You'll do it," Olivia said confidently, "I know you will."

Their days weren't just about training. They made sure to enjoy their time together. They made an effort to see as many sights as possible, Jake and Liv were in a position where they were lucky enough to travel around the world for their jobs and they weren't going to take it for granted.
