-Chapter 5: I'm Hungry-

Blair POV

I didn't want to admit it, but I really would miss my boyfriend during our journey. Putting on the depressed emo overpowered dude act for long periods is tiring. When I'm with Xiyang, he lets me be however I want.

The last time we got separated, I started acting over-the-top depressed. I barely got any alone time with him after he showed up yesterday, and now he's going to Sumeru all by himself and leaving me with Emily for what? Three weeks? I'm going to be in 100% emo mode when I arrive at the Akademiya.

Me and Emily are currently making our way to Liyue Harbor. There's a ship arriving there in a day that can take us to Inazuma, then we'll go to Sumeru. The entire journey should take us about two weeks, assuming we don't get attacked by a giant sea serpent on the way, and the others will arrive a few days later. So, I'll have about three days to make out with Xiyang in peace.

"Hey, Blair! Look!" Emily shouted from up ahead. "It's Wangshu Inn! We're getting close."

Having been trudging along slowly behind her for the past hour or so, I had to run to catch up. "How much longer till we reach the harbor?"

"Maybe another hour. Come on! If we hurry, we'll get there by lunchtime, and then there'll be a ton of yummy food to eat!

I swear, all that girl thinks about every day is food. She lugs around at least five pounds of desserts in her bag everywhere she goes.

As we passed Wangshu Inn, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that a cryo abyss mage seemed to be following us. "Hey, Emily..."

"Mmhmm?" She had a mochi ball stuffed in her mouth. "Waht?"

"There's an abyss mage following us."

"Ofkay, ofkay, lemmew finigsh my mochi fiwst."

I rolled my eyes in exasperation. "Quit talking with your mouth full, it's rude."

Emily swallowed. "Where is it? I'll beat it up for you."

I turned my head to see where the abyss mage was, but it had vanished. As I was looking around, I suddenly felt a gust of icy cold wind brush the back of my neck. I slowly turned around and was met by the glowing aqua eyes of a cryo abyss mage. Damn it. If I drew my slipper, the thing would attack me...

"GOHUScHISOVOnPH!" The abyss mage screamed as Emily delivered a karate chop to its back. She jumped on top of the monster and immediately began punching its shield to bits. Pyro sparks flew everywhere as she relentlessly performed a series of chops, kicks, punches, and flips to the poor abyss mage, who was now curled up on the ground crying.

A horn sounded as several more mitachurls and hilichurls, probably backup for the abyss mage, ran towards us. Emily suddenly stepped back into her fighting stance and closed her eyes. I sidestepped out of the way before I could get hit with her attack. "Martial Arts technique: Neko Moeru!" She jumped up, did a backflip, and aimed a flying kick into the group of monsters.

The impact caused the ground to shudder as a pyro shield formed around her. The cat on her shoulder (Yes, she has a cat on her shoulder. Did I forget to mention?) became infused with pyro, leaped onto the ground, and began scratching and biting everything in sight. Within seconds, all that remained was a few piles of ashes on the ground and a whole lot of burning grass. The cat stopped glowing and climbed back onto Emily's shoulder.

"You didn't have to go so overboard with it," I said.

Emily shrugged and pulled out her bag, checking to see if her stash of desserts was okay. "Oh come on! My mochi donuts are all melted! And my ice cream, too... It's alright, I guess. I can get new desserts once we reach Liyue Harbor."
