Bell groaned immensely as the wound on his collar bone wouldn't stop screaming at him.
"You should get that patch up"
Mason told him.
"Does it look like I got time to take a piss?"
Bell asked.
"You're no good to us bleeding on the job. Let's just go and leave the bastard here"
Woods complained.
"You got some shit for me I see. Go on spill the beans soldier boy. What's eating your ass?"
Woods got in Bells face.
"Not another fucking word"
"Or you'll do what?"
Bell grinned at him tilting his head.
Mason had came in between the two.
"Hey! We have to complete the mission. We're no good if we keep at each other's throats. Let's get this bastard and go home"
Mason said.
Bell never took his eyes off Woods as he turned away.
"Few years ago he and his unit were captured. He was the only one who survived. Ever since then he's been on edge ever since. He's not the same person anymore Bell"
"They'll get him killed"
Bell said walking forward through the streets. Mason walked beside the two.
"What the fuck are you doing here anyway?"
Woods decided to ask.
"Searching for my brother and then I became a married man"
"Settling down out of the fray. That's new for you I suppose. Who's the girl?"
Bell supposed he could tell Mason.
"Her name is Cat Valentine. She works for Umbrella. She was doing research on the human anatomy and came here for a flower that has properties that can repair the human body"
"How'd you meet her?"
Mason asked.
"Met her at the bar. Not far from here. Had a few drinks. She was being hunted by an enemy corporation who wanted her research. I killed them just before you came. Now here I am"
Bell said.
"I'm proud of you brother. Not many of us have the courage or patience to go back into society"
"Us?"
Bell grinned.
"Look I know what happened to you 5 years ago. I get it. The same happened to me"
"Only you didn't receive a bullet. Instead you got the medal of freedom and I got a bullet and not even a casket all because I was a fucking liability. I helped you in turn got betrayed twice"
Bell said.
"I'm on your side Bell. You were one of us. You still are in my book. Let's just let bygones be bygones and shake it off. I trust you. Woods has his own problems but you can still trust him"
Mason said facing Bell.
"We're not the same Mason"
Mason grinned.
"A good man once told me that we're all soldiers without an army. Betrayed. Forgotten. Abandoned but there we were in Vorkuta. One me surrounded by Russians who I trusted. One man name Viktor Reznov. I trusted him the most. He lead an escape. He orchestrated it and we all got dirty blood on our hands that day. The last thing I said to him was...step 8 Reznov...freedom. He told me that it was for me and not for him before he was killed. We're brothers Bell. We are the same"
Bell knew that name. He knew Reznov.
To hear what happened to an old friend he knew was reliving yet another loss.
"I knew Reznov. I met him in my younger years and to hear this from you. Brings me peace. He trusted you so I can try to do the same"
Bell said in a normal tone.
"Then let's get it done"
Mason said.
They walked ahead and made it to the motel. "Hudson we've arrived at the motel. Confirm mission is a go"
"Confirm. Noriega is not to be harmed
Hudson replied. Bell sensed the bullshit without even using the force.
Yet he didn't speak on it.
Not even Woods.
Strange.
Bell forgets that he didn't have his lightsaber. Only his guns. He always wanted to test the force to his limit.
All that was required was focus and patience.
"Moving on the stairs. Stack up"
Mason held point.
Bell followed.
He had to remember there's a war going on. Wood's covered Bells back. Mason quickly but quietly got up the stairs with Bell and Woods following.
He looked up to these guys before so he could do so for the moment.
Following Mason as he stepped with his every move. He felt like he was on a mission back when he trusted them.
Mason skipped past the door looking to Bell giving him a nod.
Bell returned the nod and looked to Woods. Still heated from moment early on Bell nodded to Woods as he stacked up behind him. At this point Woods would rather fight an enemy that wasn't Bell. Considering Mason went through the same thing and nearly died from an old but recent enemy.
Mason kicked the door open as Bell and Woods shot and killed two of Noriega's top guards.
Woods grabbed Noreiga by the throat pinning him on the wall.
"What are you doing?!"
"Sealing your reputation"
Mason said dumping his duffel on the nearby Bed.
Bell watched Mason until Noriega turned around to see a person he thought he would never meet.
"So the rumors are true. The Seeds of Perseus lives"
Bell tilted his head with a smile.
"I believe we haven't officially met so before you think of any more to say. Chose your words carefully"
Bell said.
"Hahaha. Working with your enemies. I'd say it's bad for business"
"I was Perseus. Not anymore. I killed them all. I suggest you keep your mouth shut"
Bell said looking away.
"How the rumors spoke of you becoming a ghost straight from hell. I see the CIA is desperate. Call your boss"
Noriega says with a smile while nodding.
Bell used the force to choke him but not enough to kill.
"You dictators talk a big game of power but lack the ability to comprehend what power can give"
Bell let him go as Mason and Woods stood over him.
"Hell. Well already been"
Mason breathed.
Woods looked at Bell for a second as Bell faced the window. Woods had to agree with what Bell meant. Bell had become something worse. Whatever happened to Bell as we already know meant nothing but straight business.
To see Bell with a woman and actually going straight was something he never expected from an enemy but he was no enemy. Woods respected him for trying to do something different. After all his life was literally washed away. He didn't blame him for being apart of Perseus. It was just how he wanted to l and he saw it. He really wanted no part of this.
"We got him. Requesting Mission Update"
Mason spoke in his ear piece.
"Mission Update. Trade off with Nexus Target"
"What?"
Woods breathed.
"Who's more important with this asshole?"
Woods pointed.
Bell feared this is where he placed his trust in them too soon as the warning in the force hummed to life.
He sensed some coming.
"Who the hell is Nexus Target?"
Mason replied.
"Your objective is to trade Noriega with Nexus Target. You got hostiles converting on your position. Defend Noriega and arm him with a weapon. Out"
"Are you fucking with me right now?!"
Woods breathed.
"I don't like it either woods but let's just get it done"
"Bullshit!"
Bell yank Noriega with the force into his grip by the neck pinning him to the window.
"You set us up!"
Bell hissed as multiple trucks surrounded the motel.
"They are not with me! They're Cartel!"
"With a lot of fucking fire power!"
Woods said as he threw Noriega to the floor and held him at gun point.
"Woods wait! We have orders"
Bell got in between them and shook his head at Woods.
"It's alright Woods! He can watch them die like the dogs they are"
Mason handed Noriega a 1911 but took out the magazine and cocked the hammer back ejecting the one in the chamber. "What are you doing?"
Noriega asked.
"He said a weapon. Didn't say anything about the bullets"
Mason said.
Bell was now pissed he no longer had his lightsaber but sighed in relief knowing it was with Cat. He could survive this rogue operation without it.
"I will deal with this"
Bell said.
"Are you crazy? They'll chew you up out there?!"
Woods said getting in Bells face.
"Good. Makes for cleaning killing! Now are you going to cover me or continue to stop me"
Bell asked without losing his shit.
"I got Noriega. You sure about this Bell"
Bell looked at Mason, Woods and Noriega with a grin.
"Let me show you why they called me the ghost of Perseus"
Bell said with his eyes down. He looked at them and narrowed his eyes.
Kicking open the door Bell jumped off the top floor to the ground. The powerlines started to sparkle as one enemy approached him slowly.
"Well well well. Isn't this a surprise? The former Boss himself"
A voice he once again didn't recognize until he seen the face.
"You shouldn't be here"
"There's a target on your head Perseus. Didn't think I'd be the one to collect"
"You got enough explosives to find out"
Bell asked as electricity coursed around his body.
"For you...yes. Unlike Naga. You will find this fight to be your last"
