"I think we're good. We are both okay with just getting a gift from you weirdos." River responded.

Of course, they wouldn't want to do something for their birthday. It was stupid of me to even ask.

"Speaking of gifts yours is kind of different this year." We walked to one of the small tables so I could make Lilly's flower crown. I received a confused look from River. "Am I seriously not getting a handmade gift from you? Those are my favorite Eva."

"That's not what I'm saying. I'm just doing something different." Hopefully, this one doesn't change our friendship. Am I making a mistake by doing this?

"Good because I have to add to my collection." I looked up from the flowers and noticed a smile on his face.

River likes to keep everything I give him and I love him for it. Besides Clementine, he's the only one who keeps them. When I first made something I just thought he'd throw them away like my family did, but Vinnie showed me River's box filled with them. I don't really give Vinnie handmade things because one he likes them from Clementine, which he says he doesn't keep but we all know he does and two he only wants baked goods from me on their birthday.

"What about my brother?" He questioned. "He asked me for red velvet cookies and chocolate chip muffins."

"Of course he would."

"Look I'm finished. I hope she likes dandelions." Every likes dandelions right? "Who doesn't like dandelions?"

Once again we found ourselves in laughter not caring about the weird looks we are getting. Which we are way used to by now. "I'm going to go find Lilly. I bring your gift later."

"Alright, but I also want a chocolate chip muffin." Looks like I'm making more muffins. "You'll have to get it before Vinnie asks about extras!" I shouted while walking away.

It was pretty calm inside. Everyone was either outside, in the living room playing games, or in their rooms. It shouldn't be hard to find Lilly.

"Ms. Carson, have you seen Lilly?" I asked her. "Um, I'm pretty sure she's in her room." I thanked her and started to walk away but she stopped me. "I need you to come to my office at 8:30 pm." Without saying anything else she just walked away.

Even though I was very confused by this I just shrugged it off. It's probably nothing. I hope.

"Lilly, are you in here?"

My question was answered when a surprised Lilly opened the door. "Um, do you need something," she asked as she started playing with her rings. "I have something for you," I replied as I pulled the crown out. "I wanted to make this for you since you didn't get to trade with anyone else in the group." Please like it.

"Thank you so much, this really means a lot. Plus I love dandelions." Yes!

"Of course and if you ever need a buddy to join I'm here. Also, don't be afraid to talk to the other kids. Everyone is very nice here."

"I will thank you," she fidgeted with the crown and then looked back up at me. "Will you join me later? You make good flower crowns." She happily asked. "I would love to. I'll see you later." I noticed her smile before closing her door.

Now to go make more muffins.

....

"Clementine, can you do me a big favor and give these to Vinnie? I have to go to Ms. Carson's office." I asked walking into our shared room. Of course, her being the nice friend she is she accepted. "Wait, why do you have to go." I shrugged not knowing the answer to that either. I've been wondering about it all day. "Hopefully is nothing bad."

"Hopefully." She repeated. "What about River? Are you not going to give him the letter."

"Yes, I am. If I don't chicken out." A smirk came across her face. "Oh, he's going to love it. Maybe he'll even ask you out then you two will finally date. Which is way overdue. This could lead to you getting married which I better be invited to." She comes up with the craziest things up there sometimes.

"I probably won't go that far, Cleo."

"Whatever you say, Mrs. Kane." She teased. "I know you're not talking you're in love with Vincent." She rolled her eyes, "Yeah. And I'm not scared to admit it."

"Why don't you tell him then?"

"Some reason you won't the River." Fair. "Excuse me, Ms. Carson needs you, Evangeline." One of the other girls said from the doorway. "See ya." I waved before leaving. "Don't forget to give him your letter!" She shouted at me.

When I made it outside her office two men were standing outside her opened door who I have never seen. "Come in Miss Lexington." Why so formal?  "Am I in trouble? Why are there men outside?" I nervously asked.

"I sure hope my baby sis hasn't been causing trouble." A deep manly voice said. Wait I know that voice. I can't believe he kept his promise.

"Issac?" My eyes became watery as I looked at my older brother. Someone I really needed and missed.

"Hey, Eva."
