CHAPTER SIX
❝ issued quest ❞

AFTER CAPTURE the flag, and percy being claimed by poseidon, campers gathered around a bonfire as they usually would after challenge games. there were campers everywhere, laughing and playing around the bonfire.

while apollo's children played a lively tune followed with their angelic voices. after each evening game, this was how the day would usually end.

campers all gathered together, the few times they could actually tolerate each other. everyone listened to the apollo children sing and play their heart out into their guitars.

their heads bobbing in sync as they stood around and even cheering them on. even ares kids watched from a distance, no one could resist apollos children lively tune.

selene sat at the end of a log besides leonardo infront of the bonfire. selene barely kept still in her seat, glancing over her shoulder every other minute.

leonardo watched his sister in confusion, trying to make out what it was exactly that had her attention, or more so who. he nudged her shoulder catching her attention.

"you've been making googly eyes at him all night, cece." he teased, a smile appearing on his lips as he gestured his head at luke.

who was standing beside chris leaning on a tree. selene pulled a face, turning her attention back to the bonfire. "i have not."

she retorted, as leo chuckled at his sister. ruth began coming into view approaching the two. "what i'd miss?"

she inquired, her eyes flickering between selene and leo before she took her seat besides him. "nothing much. just cece practically drowling over luke."

he replied, leaning back meeting selene's gaze, before waving his hands around her. she smacked his hands away. an amused grin dancing on his lip before he sat back up on the log.

"i hate you." she said, as she began to shake her head. her words were enough to cause ruth too begin chuckling so hard. the girl held her stomach as she leaned back and forth.

ruth's actions was enough to make both her siblings burst out chuckling along besides her. the evening night went as good as could be, as the apollo kids finished their final song for the night.

commotions boomed from the campers cheering and clapping. since the night was coming to an end, acesoa's cabin was next up to entertain the campers before their curfew.

ruth shot up from her seat, making her way towards the middle of the bonfire. pulling on her sleeves, while walking.

it was clear that she was nervous, she hadn't done anything like this before infront of so many people. she didn't want to mess up her only shot at being able to impress the campers.
