Charlie walked down the stairs to the subway. He didn't know what to expect from this, he's never been to a party before, well if you don't count birthdays. And this wasn't just any normal party either, it was a murder mystery party! Charlie had watched murder mystery movies before but he didn't have much of an interest in them, but hey, maybe he'll like this! He had to step outside of his comfort zone sometimes.

While Charlie was on the last step of the stairs, he thought of something.
"Maybe this isn't a good idea."Charlie thought, "Maybe I shouldn't go."
But instead of listening to his gut, he walked down that last stair and got onto the subway train. He was just overthinking this. While holding on to one of the handles hanging from the roof, Charlie noticed a woman sitting down that somehow standed out from the other people surrounding him. She had long blonde hair and was wearing a fancy fuscia dress. Is she going where I'm going? Charlie wondered. But she probably wasn't, she probably was just happening to be going to somewhere else.

The ride to the location shown on the letter wasn't that long, about an hour or so. Charlie got off the train and walked up the stairs to the surface. There wasn't much to see above the subway, the staircase just led to a dark forest, which was kinda strange considering how most subways are in big cities. Charlie just shook it off, this probably wasn't something to worry over. Hopefully.

After finding his way out of the forest Charlie wandered around for a bit trying to find the address written down, but he couldn't seem to find it anywhere during this pitch black night. But then suddenly, Charlie noticed a shining light. He looked behind him, there not too much longer down the road was the same woman from the subway holding a lantern, walking up to the door of a house. On a tiny rectangular sign on the front of the house was written the same address on Charlie's letter. He ran down the road just as the woman went inside. Charlie walked up the path leading to the front door and knocked on it. A guy with spikey brown hair answered the door.
"Hello."The guy greeted casually.
Charlie looked down at something that was on the guy's white overalls. It was a name tag. Lukey, it read.
"Uh, hello, I'm here for the party."Charlie said.
"Come in."Lukey said while opening the door open for him.
Charlie walked in and the guy closed the door behind him and locked it. Charlie thought it was a bit strange the doors needed to be locked for this, but it's not too unusual. Charlie scanned the room, searching for people he might know. But there wasn't anyone he knew here, the only person he recognized was that lady from the subway.
Maybe I should go talk to her, Charlie thought. And that's what he decided to do.
Charlie walked over to the living room where the woman was sitting with her legs crossed on the couch looking down at her hands.
"Er, hello!"Charlie greeted.
The woman looked up and had a bit of a surprised look on her face.
"Oh, euh, bonjour!"She said back.
Charlie was a bit surprised now too, did this woman come all the way from France for this party? Or was she French-American? That would be most likely. Charlie looked down at her name tag, Charlotte, it read.
Charlie was trying to remember the french he learned back in school so he could communicate with her better.
"Uh, d'où est?"Charlie asked in his broken french.
Charlotte laughed.
"Marseille, France, monsieur!"She answered.
Charlie's eyes went wide.
"Vraiment?"He asked surprised.
"Qui."
Charlie couldn't believe it was true, were there any other people here from other parts of the world? Had people really come all this way for this thing?
Charlie said goodbye to Charlotte and continued on, he felt a bit more safe now that he had gotten to know someone here. He looked around at the other people in the house with him, he quickly counted everyone and guessed there was roughly 15 other participants, or somewhere close to that. Charlie looked over to his right side and saw a woman dancing on top of the long wooden dining table. Based on the pearly white dress she was wearing and her jewelry, this woman was probably pretty well off, she looked fancy like Charlotte. Charlie looked up at her name tag. Lilling, it read.
Charlie stood around reading everyones name tags, Haneen, Indah, Bailey, Omar, Dvir and so many more.
