The gravity of their situation weighed heavily on the group as they absorbed the implications of Emily's revelation. The air raid shelter's dim light flickered, casting eerie shadows on the walls, and heightening the sense of urgency and danger around them.

"Okay, let's think this through," Daniel said, trying to organize their thoughts. "If the pendant has the power to end the curse, and it protects Emily, that means we're dealing with something much larger than just time travel."

"The house has always sent us to moments of significant turmoil," Michael pointed out. "Maybe there's something here we're supposed to see."

Emily nodded, clutching the pendant tightly. "We need to figure out why we're here and how it connects to the curse. There must be something specific in this period that we're meant to understand."

"Let's start by examining what we know about this time," Daniel suggested. "We're in the middle of an air raid, which means we're in World War II. There could be something or someone here directly connected to the curse."

Michael added, "We should also think about what the pendant symbolizes. Protection, power, and maybe even sacrifice. These themes could give us clues about what we need to do."

Olivia froze for just a second at the mention of sacrifice. The word seemed to hang in the air, laden with a heavy, ominous significance that made her heart skip a beat.

"Olivia?" Thomas asked, noticing her sudden stillness. He stepped closer, his brow furrowing with concern. "Are you okay?"

Olivia shook her head, trying to ignore the persistent voice that seemed to grow louder with each passing second. She took a deep breath, hoping to steady herself. "I'm fine, just trying to make sense of it all," she replied, though her voice wavered slightly, betraying her inner turmoil.

Michael gave her a concerned look, his eyes searching her face for signs of what might be troubling her. He placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Alright. Just let me know if I can do anything."

Emily, glanced at Olivia with sympathy, her heart aching for her friend. "I know this is overwhelming," she said softly, her voice filled with empathy. "But we'll figure it out. We have to."

Olivia forced a smile. "Thank you, both."

Silence fell upon the group again, heavy and contemplative. The weight of the situation pressed down on them, each lost in their thoughts. The only sounds were the distant echoes of muffled explosions and the occasional creak of the shelter's wooden beams. The air was thick with the smell of damp earth and the cold, metallic scent of fear. They sat together on the hard, cold benches of the air raid shelter, yet each felt the isolation of their concerns, united by uncertainty but separated by the personal battles they each faced.

Thomas Finally broke the silence. "So Elizabeth got wrongly accused and bound her spirit to the pendant to protect her descendants. What more do we know?"

Daniel and Emily looked at each other. Emily was the first to speak, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thomas and Eleanor Hawthorne disappeared on the evening of a new moon."

Daniel nodded, his expression grave. "Nothing was mentioned about their kids on the memorial plague."

Micheal furrowed his brow. "Memorial plague?"

"In the village square, was a weathered plaque nestled beneath the branches of an ancient oak tree," Emily explained. "The words were almost unreadable but it was definitely about the couple, not the kids."

"So then what happened to the children?" Rachel asked. "They were still pretty young according to the legend."

Daniel sighed, running a hand through his hair. "That's the mystery."
