I woke up to the smell of eggs. I guessed that my Uncle wasn't home. He always hated the smell of eggs so when someone makes them, he would spend alot of time getting the air out.
I didn't feel the need to check my phone. I quite literally had zero friends.
I had drunk two cups of americano earlier this morning, hoping it would wake me up. But I still fell asleep after getting home from school.
I had exactly 3 hours left until the big event. I was told to be there at 9 pm but taking in the ideals of my father, he'd be expecting me to show up at least an hour earlier than that.
The thought of eggs really made my mouth water but I would rather not face my aunt before such a big event, not that I would ever like to face her any time of day. She might infuriate me a little more than usual.
Messing up on my first day at work was the last thing I wanted, but the thing my aunt wanted most.
Earlier today, my aunt showed up to my homeroom and made me help the student council with club issues even though I wasn't even a member! But my aunt reasoned, "The President is busy with other issues, you're your class' President, right? You should be able to handle a few kids."
It was obvious that she was trying to make me exhausted so that I'd be late to work, but it wasn't new to me.
I was more sure about it when I heard my aunt speak,
"Hyemin, turn the volume down! What if she wakes up?"
Soon, the volume was turned down. I assumed that Hyemin complained before doing so. She had to do what she says, so I expected her to.
"Just for 2 more hours, my dear. Then she'd definitely mess up." I heard the evil in my aunt's voice.
Some family I had.
Clicking my tongue, I went to the bathroom to get ready. I was hungry and figured I could grab something on my way, so I had to leave extra early.
I gave my aunt a little smile as I left my room. My aunt's face was drenched in devastation. She turned to glare at Hyemin, who didn't care before going back to her drama.
"Oh, you're up early." Her aunt spoke, causing me to look back at her.
"Yeah. First day. Tryna be punctual." I shrugged before walking back to the bathroom.
"You-You've still got time, yeah! Why don't you have dinner before leaving? It's almost ready!" My aunt lied.
I took notice of the kitchen counter earlier. There was nothing else but eggs and a bottle of mayo. My aunt wasn't the cleanest person. Whenever she was cooking, the ingredients would be all over the place. But there wasn't anything else, she had not even started dinner yet.
