I left my father's office and was in my old bedroom, which was now almost empty.
The only things present were my old bed, and a wooden table. No chair. I didn't need one, though. The table was for children. The same one I remembered from my childhood. I could just sit on the floor to reach it.
The newly appointed assistant awkwardly stood in the doorway. I hadn't even spoken a word to the poor man. I was too raged by my father's actions.
It was my first mission for god's sake! And yet, I was tasked with something even professionals couldn't pull off! He gave me no advice, no tips, no help whatsoever.
Even the folder only contained three papers. The first of them had a picture of the Ravens' boss. The information below the picture were all just assumptions they had made about him.
The second one was a list of known associates of the Ravens, which again really wasn't a list. There were only six people on it and all of them were dead.
The last one had yet another picture. But this one caught me off-guard. It was him. The cookbook guy.
I ran my eyes across the title, 'Relative of the Boss. '
As expected, there was no other information below except for his appearance and a few assumptions.
'possible blood relative; similar features.'
That particular assumption caught my attention. I took the first paper and compared the boss guy with the cookbook guy. They really did share some features. Both of them had big round eyes, and a pointed nose.
I took a closer look at the second picture. He was standing, presumably waiting for the signal to cross the road. But I also noticed a few other things.
He was wearing what seemed like a school uniform. So if it was a pretty recent picture, it's possible he's still in school. So he could be anywhere between 15-20 years old. Even older, maybe.
He did say that he had 'places to be' on a Friday morning. He wasn't wearing a uniform, so it wasn't school that he was heading to. He could definitely be older than 20.
I noted that down before another scream fell into my ear shot. From my peripheral vision, I could see my assistant flinch. He was clearly new.
"What is your name?" I asked the man.
The man seemed confused at first, but he hesitantly answered. "Kim M-Mingyu, ma'am."
"Mr. Kim, I'm Han Jina." I offered my hand for a handshake. Mingyu hesitated again.
"You don't have to be so stiff with me, Mr.Kim. I'm sure you've got a better experience than me in this field. " I watched as his body relaxed.
"I'll keep that in mind, ma'am. " Mingyu said.
