Idiot, was what the water called me as I stood hopeless in the shower.
What the hell was I thinking?
That in the middle of all of this, the mission, I could possibly make a boyfriend out of him?
Kang Taehyun was unarguably a fine specimen, of course he wasn't single!
But then again, he was the enemy. I should hate him. What I was doing was not even in the slightest way close to hate.
I could try to gaslight myself into thinking I don't give a shit about the guy but in all the times I was unsure of how I felt, I had actually never been so sure.
I like him.
"It's just a crush, I'll be okay." I assured myself, getting out of the shower.
That's right, it was just a crush. It's normal for teenagers to grow crushes on random people, yeah.
"You still thinking about what Taehyun said?" Hyemin didn't need to hear from me to know what was going on.
"Why would I be?" I seated myself next to her, forcing myself to watch weak hero class 1 for the nth time. She never stopped watching that.
"I noticed. You've been acting weird ever since he spoke of a girlfriend, stop lying to me." She paused the television and turned to me. "You like him?"
I didn't really like it when Hyemin starts acting like a supportive big sister, because whenever she does, I always end up breaking my moral code.
"Sure but did you notice the microwave beeping? Bet you didn't." I tried to escape, getting up on my feet.
I failed. She pulled me back to sit.
"The microwave's not working for the past two days, come up with a better excuse. I'll wait." Hyemin had me figured out. "Talk to me, Jina. You know a worry is half solved when you share it with someone?"
She was right.
"Long story short so Taehyun is....um." i hesitated. Should I really tell her about my mission?
"Taehyun is with the ravens? Is that it?" She asked casually.
What.
"You knew?" I was surprised and my voice made sure to reflect on that.
"Yeah. I was there when Ju Suwon submitted her reports to dad." Hyemin explained. "She had her suspicions with Yeonjun, tailed him for a bit and found out about the others in the process."
Wait, Yeonjun? She knew about him too?
"Why, didn't you read her reports? You seem shocked."
"I did? But all I had to work with was a picture of Taehyun and a statement saying that he could possibly have links!"
