Chapter Six, Dead Girl Driving (hehe heathers ref sorry)

((Another authors note, I just realized that I may have based some aspects of Yukki off of my self, like the eyeliner, emoness, love of sour gummy worms, and literally any tropical fruit flavored energy drink... And their favorite anime 😭😭😭))

    Todays the day. Today marks the day that I officially ran away from my problems... Well, more so, drove away from my problems. Today we're officially starting our EXTREMELY long drive to Okinawa, and the car already REEKS of.. Akai. I hate saying that. It's been two days since Neru attempted bringing Akai back to life. She says there's still a possibility of Akai coming back, but it's not likely.

  I sat in the car as Neru and Ryu tossed what little we had left of our life in. A few suitcases of clothes and basic necessities, along with snacks and such.. and of course a small cooler of drinks for along the way. It was a few day drive after all. So they packed some energy drinks for me, smoothies for Neru, and.. eugh. Blood, for Ryu. Then we each have our own small items that we deemed worthy of bringing. Little keep sakes I guess. Neru climbed into the driver's seat, and Ryu climbed into the passengers seat, as I cracked open a nice, cold, watermelon energy drink. I lifted the wet can to my lips and took a sip. The sweet and sour flavor filled my mouth, and the extreme carbonation burned my throat. Mmm.. at least I have these to make me feel at home. I sighed as I sunk into my seat a little. I licked my lips, tasting the remnants of the drink that was burning my chapped lips. I should really drink more water.

I heard a sigh come from Neru, "I really don't understand how you can drink those things. They mess with me. Make me feel crazy." She complained, as she pulled out of the hotel parking lot. "You're already crazy." I shot back, not feeling the playful vibe those two where trying to set. Its 6:00 AM. How can they do this? "Chill out Yukki. Good vibes only on this trip!" Ryu stated, excitedly. I rolled my eyes, and pulled out my phone. Good vibes only? That's interesting coming from a serial killer and cannibal. 

I propped up my phone on the hanging cooler on the back of the chair in front of me. I turned on my favorite anime, Past Journal. I put on my headphones and ignored the world that was falling apart as we knew it.

Suddenly I heard Neru, Ryu, and an unknown voice scream, right before Neru swerved us off of the road, into the grass, quickly. I ripped off my headphones, and sat up. "Huh? What happened--" that's when I saw it.. it worked. My eyes followed where Ryuketsu's gun was pointed.. behind me. I turned to see Akai sitting up behind me, looking absolutely terrified. I slapped my hands to my mouth in disbelief. Akai looked exactly how she had when she was a corpse. Pale, almost purple skin, large eye bags, and torn clothing. Almost as if she where a zombie.. but she wasn't. She was fully conscious, and, from what I could tell, not going to eat our brains.

"Akai..?" I whispered from behind my hands. "Yukki- what am I- what's happening- I thought I was..."  She looked down at her hands, they where stained with her own blood, they where dirty and pale. She let out a small shreek as she fell back, confused. "I can't believe it worked..!" Neru said, out of shock. "What worked? What did you do?!" Her eyes darted around the car, trying to process everything.

"O-okay, now don't be mad.. but uh.." I struggled to find how to explain everything. "Uhm-, you remember how I killed you and stuff?" I stuttered. "Mhm..?"
"Uh.. well.. I felt really guilty, and super upset, soooo... I kinda tried to kill myself, then I was revived, then I convinced Neru to try and revive you, and we didnt think it would work, but we tried anyway..... And now here we are!!" I laughed slightly. Her eyes fell towards me, expression of terror, turning to concern. "You.. attempted suicide... Because you.. y-you where that upset..?" Her voice softened. "Remember what I said when we fought..?" I said, trying to see what she remembered.

((Authors note: since I KNOW half of y'all skipped multiple chapters, I'm mad btw, imma fill you in. During the fight, Yukki said that if they ever had to kill Akai, they would want to die with her so they wouldn't have to live with the guilt. Yeah. Foreshadowing, IDIOTS.))

"Oh.. Yukki.. I-" Akai bust into tears as she tossed her self over me, hugging me tightly as she sobbed. "I never believed your words untill I was held in your arms at the end.." she hugged tighter, "I'm so sorry."
"It's okay, Akai.. I'm just glad you're alive again." I smiled as she let go of me. I let her climb into the seat next to me. "You're probably hungry after multiple days of being dead,.. right?" I asked, opening up the snack bag. "No, but I'm a bit thirsty, do you have anything to drink?" She asked. "Sure, take your pick." I opened up the cooler. "Uh.. what's in the bottles over there..?" She pointed to the bottles of blood. "Uh.."

"Blood." Ryu responded, quickly. "Oh..." Akai tried to keep a positive attitude. "Don't ask questions you don't wanna know the answer to, hun." Ryu turned back to the front of the car. Akai quickly reached for a peach energy drink. "Good pick" I winked as I closed the cooler. She smiled. "So.. Akai.. are you looking to come with us, or..?" Neru asked, trying to be polite. "Oh uhm-, where are you guys going?" She asked. "We're moving to Okinawa. We can't stay in Hiroshima anymore, ever since, ya know.. the whole issue.."

"Oh.. the fight?" Akai asked, awkwardly, feeling bad. "Yes. After your death, and the destruction of our house.. it's hard to stay there without locals questioning us." Ryu growled. "Sorry about that..-"
"No! It's fine!" I interrupted. "Uhm-, I guess Ill join if that's alright." She said, quietly. "Of course." Neru smiled.
