"You put the tree up?" Lorelai rubbed her eyes as she walked downstairs to see her daughters in their pajamas, untangling Christmas lights. It was barely eight in the morning on a Saturday, yet they must've been up for over an hour."I couldn't sleep so we decided to put it up, considering Christmas is in a week." Molly shrugged, setting the ball of lights in front of her.
"Oh, I didn't realize you cared about the tree that much. I'm sorry I haven't had time to—" Lorelai was interrupted as a shout came from outside, followed by a thump. "Was that.."
"He's putting lights up on the porch." Molly sighed out, getting up to check on her boyfriend. "I don't typically care about the tree but, I, um.. I invited Ryan and Hazel to Christmas with us." She confessed, hating the idea of him and Hazel spending Christmas alone in their apartment.
"Why didn't I think of that sooner?" Lorelai asked, disappointed in herself for not offering out.
"Hey, babe.." Wyatt laid in a fluff of snow, not in a position of pain but of frustration. "I dropped the hammer." He pointed to the newly formed hole in the edge of the porch.
"You're fixing that." Lorelai shook her head and stepped back into the house.
"Are you okay?" Molly slipped on the nearest set of shoes which happened to be her mothers bear fuzzy boots.
"Oh, I'm fine." Wyatt answered, sitting up slowly and looking at the hole he'd put into the wood.
"How bout I call you some help? You shouldn't risk hurting yourself with the games coming up." Molly dug her phone from her pocket, dialing Ryans number knowing he was likely free and awake.
"Morning, Molls—" she could hear the cries of Hazel as his phone shuffled around. "Sorry, we're teething so we're not getting a lot of sleep—she's been like this since last night." Molly frowned, hearing his panicked shushes to the baby.
"Why don't you come over? I'm sure mom could help with her." Molly hated hearing the usually happy baby in pain and she could only imagine what Ryan felt.
"Are you sure? She won't stop crying."
"Get over here, its not a problem." She told him and he mumbled a quick 'be there soon' before hanging up.
"Is Haze okay?" Wyatt asked, now leaned against the railing and Molly nodded.
"She's teething." She answered, patting down his backside from the snow. "Don't get freaked out if her cries seem a little worse today, alright?" Molly knew how concerned Wyatt could get when it came to the child, and she didn't want him to over worry.
"Did he say if she was running a fever?" He asked, turning towards her as she patted his bottom with a light giggle.
"No?"
