Wyatt's birthday and last day of senior year, two things that probably shouldn't have been happening on the same day. The party had been talked about for weeks, it was the golden boys last kegger before going off to the big leagues. The popular and rich kids had been trying to buddy with Wyatt since they heard about the draft. Everyone wanted their time to shine with his spotlight.
He always loved the attention, but it was the genuine kind. People who knew his game, appreciated his person, someone with an understanding for him—people like his friends.
"What if i just canceled the party?" Wyatt asked, the silence that had recently been filled with the struggle of lighting a joint in the wind now broken. As Molly got it lit she stared at him with wide eyes, only taking a quick hit.
"You're joking right?" She asked, knowing how badly he had wanted this party.
"I'm not." He took the joint from her as she sat in thought, "it's our last real night as.. us, me, you, Izzy, it all really started with just us. I kind of want it to end that way too." Wyatt could feel the lump in his throat, having felt more emotional as of late. He took a drag from the joint and Molly moved closer, resting her head onto his shoulder.
"We could have a sleepover?" Molly prefered the thought of an intimate friends night, the way they all used to before.
"I can try not to forget the snacks." He joked, kissing her forehead as he handed her the joint.
"Wait, so we're not going to the party? Cause they're gonna have it, just not at Beaus." Molly laughed, unashamedly excited to have a sleepover.
"No party, just us, some weed, the scream trilogy and snacks and I think we're good."

"Man it's no fair that's still a school night for me." Ryan complained, the seniors finishing two weeks before everyone. He had just been told about their new plans, and was more bummed he would miss the party completely. They were his only way in.
"Next year, buddy." Wyatt teased, Hazel at his feet hitting him with a plastic banana. "Hazelnut, you're gonna bruise my foot." Wyatt stopped her, picking up the toddler and gently tossing her beside him on the couch. She let out a giggle as she flopped onto the pillows next to Molly.
"Da!" Hazel screamed with joy, pointing over to Ryan and he left out a laugh.
"I saw! How dare uncle Wy throw you." Ryan dramatized, earning an array of sassy baby babble in return.
"Oh, Wy, you made her mad." Molly giggled, watching as Hazel bounced up and tossled herself into Wyatt.
"Oh, we gonna fight? I don't know bout—oh!" He pretended to go down as she smacked him on the shoulder. "She's strong!" He rolled off the couch and onto the floor, the toddler following and he quickly caught her.
"Looks like her sports gonna be wrestling." Molly joked, and she saw as Wyatt raised a brow.
"She's gonna whoop everyone around." Ryan chuckled, lifting Hazel off of the blond man. "It's bout bed time, I dont need her keeping me up all night when there's finals coming." Ryan said, earning a loud cry from his daughter as she heard the words 'bed time'.
"Oh, Haze, don't worry I'll come by tomorrow and we can go get french fries, alright?" Wyatt quickly told her, sitting up to wipe away the toddlers tears as her father held her.
