"Vivienne, are you still on for the movies tonight? - Demetrius."
My phone lights up with a notification. I had completely forgotten I had agreed to a trip to the movies with Demetrius. So much had happened in the past 12 hours that I had failed to remember that the enemy's son had basically asked me on a date. I shot up from the couch.
"Leaving?" Twilight asked. He didn't look all to confused that I was heading out already. It seemed as though he, out of all people, remembered that I had a date.
"Yeah, Deme and I are going to the movies." I sigh. I had been perfectly comfortable on the Forger's plush sofa. I realized I needed to message Demetrius back.
Yeah lol I type.
It didn't take him long to text me back. I'll pick you up in a few minutes.\
I bid farewell to the Forgers and scramble across the hall to put on something more presentable. I pick out a maxi skirt, the colour matching Twilight's suit. I then sift through my closet to find a turtleneck that doesn't have blood seeped into the fabric. Once I did, I threw my hair up and slipped on my non-work combat boots. I grabbed my purse and decide to wait on the front steps of the complex.
And he's there, early actually. His fancy black car waited outside for me as I stepped out of the door. The driver opened the back passenger door for me and I slipped inside. Demetrius was beside me.
"Hello Vivienne." He said, rather cheerfully. I smiled and waved to him.
"Hi."
"So, if you don't mind me asking, where were you yesterday?" I could feel the worry in his voice. I pitied him, as I was out of school so much for missions. My attendance was ass, but I still managed to become and stay an imperial scholar. I had my excuse rehearsed, of course.
"I just felt a little ill. I'm better now though." I said with a smile. Demetrius' lips curved up the tiniest amount.
He was sort of an odd guy. He was constantly studying, the valedictorian of the 11th year imperial scholars. He had these incredibly noticeable eye bags, and almost never smiled. He bared great resemblance to his father, Donovan Desmond, a wealthy Ostanian politician. Twilight and I's goal was to shut down all war plans, and that meant getting closer to the enemy. So really, this trip was all for the mission.
We spent the whole ride chatting away about meaningless stuff such as tests and classmates. I'm sure Demetrius would be interesting if he would open up. It took a lot of convincing for him to ever utter anything about his family. And that was the stuff I needed to hear. We finally arrived to a high class cinema. Demetrius got out first and rounded the vehicle to let me out. He took my hand and helped me out of the car. We entered the theater, heads turning to see the chairman's first son and some random girl enter the theater. We got two tickets for Kingston, the movie about the college student that falls in love with a vampire cowboy. I offer to buy concessions, but Demetrius being Demetrius, he insists.
We get two seats in basically the middle of the theater. I end up picking out a few movies I want to watch with Twilight, such as Almost (Sweet Music), and Apple Cider. (Which happens to be by the same director as Kingston, Vera Thompson.)
The movie itself was actually pretty good. Towards the end it got really cheesy, but I would watch it again if given the chance. Demetrius decided rather than have his driver drive me home, he would walk me home.
"So, what did you think?" He asked.
"You know, I actually really enjoyed it. I think Celeste was my favourite character." I smiled. "She reminds me of myself in a way,"
"You're definitely quite a bit smarter." Demetrius joked. "Personally I enjoyed Maria's character. She was quite enjoyable, and I wish she had gotten more screen time."
"I def get it." I say as I look around me. Despite living here and stuff, I never really took into consideration how beautiful Berlint was at night. Another thing I realized was how much I enjoyed hanging out with Demetrius. He could actually be fun sometimes.
We got to my building after what seemed like only moments.
"I really enjoyed this evening." He said with the tiniest smile.
"So did I." I smiled back, but larger. "We should do this again sometime."
"Yeah. We should."
"Good night, Deme." I said, waving as I opened the door.
"Good night Viv. See you tomorrow."
