"Wake up." It was Twilight, flicking me in the shoulder. I yawned and stretched myself out a bit.
"What, is there an enemy?" I yawn. Twilight rolls his eyes.
"No, numbskull. We're at the station." That's when I notice the train sure has stopped, and we're at Berlint station. I grin, I was ready to get off this damn train.
"Thank god." I remove my legs from Twilight's and bring myself to a proper sitting position.
"We have to meet her at a cafe before we can go home, just so you know." Twilight chuckled, as he put his hat on to leave. Considering we were in public, it wasn't safe to mention the Handler, so we stuck to pronouns. I groan and stand up, grabbing my pink purse from beside me. I do one last check to make sure I had everything I needed. My gun was in it's thigh holster, my phone was in my skirt pocket, I had my book, my earbuds, and most importantly my lipstick. I stood up with Twilight and followed him off the train.
After leaving the station, we walked a couple of blocks to this really cutesy cafe that I have definitely pointed out before. We don't bother with any drinks (despite my longing for the frappé with the kitty on it). We had buisness to do.
Twilight spotted her awfully large hat in the corner of the shop and walked briskly towards her. She looked up and smiled at us. I smile back upon seeing the kitty frappé at the table.
"Good day, or perhaps good evening, you two. Take a seat." The Handler seemed as if she was in a good mood today. That was good. "I took the liberty of buying you two drinks. I hope I did well."
"Thank you ma'am!" I grin. Twilight smirks, giving the Handler a slight nod, a silent thank you.
"No problem." Her voice was low. "How did that mission go?"
"Great. The threat is executed, the citizens are safe." Twilight said, his face emotionless as ever.
"I kicked absolutely ass, and I bought you a keychain!" I grinned, grabbing a small keychain with the town's name and a cat charm. The Handler smiled slightly.
"When did you have time for this?" She asked, examining the keychain.
"We had some spare time, Star dragged me into a souvenir shop once we made sure the coast was clear." Twilight answered. I smiled at the Handler.
"Excellent. You know Agent Starfall, I admire despite your work and reputation you still manage to be so cheerful. Bravo." The Handler hooked the keychain onto a ring. Twilight sighed.
"It gets exhausting." He said. It was an obvious act, kind of a shitty lie from the west's number one spy.
"But you looove me!" I say as I rest my palms on his shoulder. The Handler let out a small laugh.
"Fine. I guess I do." He jokingly rolled his eyes. I was right and he knew it.
"I'm glad to hear the mission went well. And how is STRIX?" She said, sipping her drink.
"Going good, for Star at least. She's an imperial scholar, second in her class. Right under the enemy's son. She's getting closer with him and gathering more intel." Twilight picks up the coffee and swirls it around. I give the Handler a salute. "For my child on the other hand, she's dumber than a box of rocks."
"Twi, don't be so rude." I scolded. He sighed again.
"Don't get too attached. I'm only with them for the mission." He said, but there was something in his voice that seemed softer than usual, as if he didn't mean it. I didn't feel like prying through, he'd tell me when the time was right.
"Good to hear. Now, you two are dismissed." The Handler said as she stood up. "Good evening."
I watched her walk out of the cafe as I sipped my drink. Once she was gone, I looked to Twilight. I gave him a look, one that he understood immediately.
"Yes, we've worked hard. I guess we can treat ourselves."
