First Day (Chapter 1)

(Oliver's Pov)

I got out of the car and started walking towards my dorm building, It was a huge building right next to the Academy. I looked up in awe as this was the first time I had ever been in downtown Diamond city and the buildings looked like they scratched the sky. The sky was still dark out, I looked down at my phone clock saying it was only 4:45 and school didnt start until 7 am. I walked over to a bench on the walkway to the dorms and sat down. For a moment I just gazed into the sky and looked at the bright neon lights of the many sky scrapers. After a little while I loaded up something to do on my phone, It was a strategy game nothing crazy just a little tap and move type of game. I played it for about 20 minutes and got bored again.

After a while of just watching the stars, the sun started to rise. I got up and stretched my arms and legs and began walking to the dorms, the dorms didnt open until 5"30 so since I didnt have anything better to do I just sat on a bench and waited until I could come in. Once inside I was met with a receptionist who kindly greeted me and asked for my name and then gave me my dorm room key, I took it and thanked her and got in the elevator. I went to check my dorm room floor and the key said floor 52. "Oh, hell yeah!" I said confidently knowing that I get a great view of the city at night. "Hey! wait up dont press it yet." some guy yelled running into the elevator just barely squeezing through the doors. He was a short guy about 5'6 and had a buzzcut, he was wearing what looked like an expensive jacket and designer pants of some sort and he had a shiny golden necklace around his neck. He didn't look weak either he had a buff but still athletic look. "Phew, almost missed it. I already fell asleep and missed the elevator the first time, and I gotta wait forever for it to come back down." He laughed at himself and then after panting with his hands on his knees hunched over he stood up and went to shake my hand. "Sup, I'm jack." He said with a big smirk on his face. "Hey, my name is Oliver." I said kind of nervously as I shook his hand.

I dont talk to people much normally, ever since "that" happened I stopped being the little amount of social I was. This guy just kept on talking to me though, It was kind of nice though getting to talk to someone again. Once we reached our floor, we walked together just talking about where we are from and other things like that. When I brought the fact I was homeschooled or that I wasn't rich like a lot of the people going here he didn't treat me any different then he already was. "Oh shit, look at that our dorms are next to each other. Anyway I'll see ya around neighbor." He said as he walked into his dorm and with his back to me he waved. I walked into my dorm and immediately the difference between this place and my house. The walls were a marble white, I had my own kitchen and living room, But what really caught my attention was the huge balcony outside with a massive window. I walked out on to the balcony and seen the most amazing view I have ever seen. I noticed when I looked up that this was the top floor. I walked back into the dorm room and began unpacking my bags.

At around 6:45 I walked out of my dorm and began walking to the Academy, as I was getting into the elevator there was this blonde haired girl in the corner with earbuds in, she also looked like a first year and wore the girls white and red uniforms. I didnt want to bother her so I just stood in the far side of the elevator and looked down at my phone and scrolled through social media. Suddenly I heard a crash and I look down and in between me and the blonde haired girl is who else but Jack. "Oopsies, my bad." Jack said laughing and started to pick up his notebooks that flew out of his open bag. "Hey Oliver, long time no see." Jack said as I helped him up, "For being in such a smart private school, Your kind of seem like an idiot." I said to him pretty bluntly. "Its cause i am." He responded with a straight face, which caused me to start laughing at him but stopped myself "sorry." I said but he was already focusing on something else. He looked at the blonde haired girl and just kind of stared at her face for an extended period of time, it was pretty obvious too which made it kind of awkward. After about a minute of staring he points at her, which made it extremely more awkward. He then declares "I know you? dont I"
