(Oliver's Pov)

It was the end of 4th period, we only had 9 periods a day including lunch which just so happened to be our next period. Me and Jack walked to lunch together, other then our first period the day was pretty much what you would expect at your first day of freshman year. All we really did in all of our classes so far was attendance and the teachers handed syllabuses out to the class. On our way to lunch nothing interesting happened, but once we arrived there Jack was offered to sit at a lot of different tables but he just shrugged them off and went to sit alone with me even though I told him that he could sit wherever and that I was fine. "You don' have to sit with me ya know?" I told Jack genuinely feeling bad. "Nah, screw them guys. They only invite me to sit with them because of my family." I didn't want to ask since it seemed personal but I just nodded and continued eating my lunch.

Once I was done eating I felt someone's hand grab my shoulder. "Admit you cheated." It was a familiar voice who said it, an annoying voice that just gives you the ick. "Answer me peasant." Mark said into my ear violently, he was now gripping my shoulder hard enough to make me wince in pain. "I didn't cheat I swear on it." I struggled to say and its true I didn't cheat but at this point I was just trying to ignore the pain in my shoulder which wasn't letting off. "A stupid street rat like you shouldn't even be in a 20 mile radius of this place." Mark said now squeezing harder then before. Jack just looked at him in disgust, I could tell he wanted to do something but he knew he would just cause a scene which I wanted to avoid. "Tch, whatever filthy trailer trash." Mark said after finally letting go of my should, he then spit on me before walking away. Once he was gone Jack looked right at his table and spoke. "What a dickhead, if he weren't my cousin I would have put my fist through his skull 4 periods ago. What a prick." Jack then hit the table hard enough to cause other tables to look over then just sighed and asked me how my arm was. I told him it was fine and then went to the bathroom after lunch to check my shoulder.

I was now holding a clump of tissues over my shoulder, I didn't think it would have even be bleeding after just being grabbed. But I was wrong because there were 5 decently large cuts on my shoulder from what Id assume would be mark's 5 family crest rings on his left hand. After about 3 minutes I ran to my next class and sat down in the near back of the class. It was basically a study hall, and the person who again sat next to me was Olivia. She looked at the bulge in my shoulder which were paper towels I found in the bottom of my bag (thanks mom) taped to my wound. She didn't say anything, instead she just looked concerned and continued to stare at it. "Its nothing." I quickly said. She realized she looked pretty weird just staring at me so she just nodded and put her head down. The rest of the day went on pretty quick and I didn't have any problems with the blonde haired hothead so I assumed that I was fine for a while. I went home and immediately passed out in bed after school was over.

It was the next day in first period, I had zoned out in class for a good chunk of time. "How about Oliver answers this question." I jumped realizing I was not listening. "Um what was the question?" I asked awkwardly causing some giggles and laughs throughout the class. "Silence please, A standard deck of playing cards has 52 cards, with 13 cards in each suit. Suppose you draw three cards without replacement. What is the probability that all three cards are hearts?" It was a question that would be pretty complicated to other students considering people were still frantically doing the math on paper. "Um 1.29 percent?" I answered quickly, it wasn't a hard question necessarily, it just required a little bit of paper work. However I have always been decently good at mental math. "Woah, thats the fastest someone has ever answered that, and I know for a fact you weren't paying attention, rather Interesting." "He cheated!" Mark yelled from the front of the classroom looking straight at me." I was going to defend myself but before I could speak Flores spoke. "Nah, Id know." Flores said smirking and sure of himself. Flores asked me specifically a couple more questions that class period and I answered them all correctly.
