Ahkmenrah pov

I got up from my sarcophagus to see Larry standing outside my exhibit.

"Larry guardian of Brooklyn it's so nice to see you again," I said cheerfully.

Larry walked in close to my sarcophagus as I was unwrapping myself from my linens.

"Are you going to keep teasing me with that name," he said with a laugh.

"That's how introduced yourself to me when we met Larry. I would like to keep it this way."

After getting all my wrappings off he looked at me very seriously. Which I don't know was good or bad.

"I tried ahk. I convinced her to come visit tonight but I don't know if she will come."

"You did your best Larry that's all I've asked of you my friend."

I patted him on the shoulder but he still looked defeated.

"Do you think she will come?"

"That's up to her Larry. I will just wait and see."

I know that's what I said but I want to see her. I been longing for her ever since she left. She's all I've been thinking about. Why did she say no. Will she actually come. Can we be friends.

Y/n pov

I was on the front steps of the museum and I was doing what I do best.. overthinking.

Should I go in and see everyone. Maybe I should just go back home. Mom will be there with who knows what. I came all this way though.

"Ahhh what should I do," I yelled.

"How about come in."

I turned around to see Larry. I stood there for a minute contemplating if I should. I looked away for a minute and then ran to join Larry. There's nothing out there for me. Everything I want right now is in here. That's what I thought when I came inside.

Everything was bustling just like the first night I came here. Except I wasn't afraid anymore. It was so alive. I looked up to see ahkmenrah standing on the balcony in front of the Africa sign. I felt weak in my knees and wanted to run. He looked like royalty up there looking down smiling.

His eyes landed on mine and I started to walk away slowly then into a run. Why am I running he won't hurt me but I can't face him right now. I hid in the animal exhibit and the only animal there was a monkey. He jumped on my shoulder and hugged my head.

I pulled his hands off my head gently and said "That's sweet dear monkey but I got to hide."

I was waiting on the balcony worried that she would not come. I looked around trying to be happy so no one would worry about me. When my eyes landed on her I wanted to run to her. To talk with her. I was starting to walk to her. She went away quicker than I could go down the stairs.

"She came back larry. She really came and she ran away."

"I don't know what to tell you bud."

Teddy and sacagawea rode up to us with his horse. He quickly dismounted and helped sacagawea off.

"I have an opinion on this lorence," Teddy said.

"Tell us then what do you think Teddy," Larry asked.

"Go after her."

"What do you mean teddy," I asked.

"If you want to know more. You have to ask her yourself."

Sacagawea walked over to Teddy and put her arm in his. They looked at each other lovingly. Teddy slowly looked back at me.

"If we didn't talk to each other we would still be apart. Larry helped us meet and told me to tell her but that was my choice. Though I was scared I told her how I felt."

He looked back at sacagawea again and put a hand on her arm.

Sacagawea then looked at me and said, "Y/n is the one scared right now. Not because she thinks you will hurt her. So go ask her."

With their words I felt determined. I went looking for her. I took awhile but some people pointed out where she was. I finally found her in the African mammals exhibit. Dexter was on her shoulder hugging her head.

Taking his hands off her head she said, "That's sweet dear monkey but I got to hide."

"I hope not from me," I said.

She turned around and looked at me in surprise. Now that I found her I don't know what to say now.
