Y/N pov

I'm late! I'm late! My alarm didn't go off. What do I do? I ran down the hall to see Becky drinking her cup of coffee. In our nice kitchen. Looking at me worried.

"Woe there. Where do you think you're going now y/n?" She said in her southern accent.

That's my aunt. She helped me move to Texas from new York. So right now she's playing the mom card. I just don't want the mom. I just want to be on time.

"Look I don't have the time to talk!?"

"Oh yes you do. Now sit down or I will make you."

Reluctantly I sat down and took a big breath. I don't know why she is stopping me but when she wants something. I just give in to do it. Either Southern people have more energy or I just don't.

"Your excused from class today."

"Why is that so aunt Becky?"

"Cuz your mom called. She wants you to visit her. In New York."

"We talked about this Aunt Becky I don't want to be with my mom."

"I know you have your reasons but you're still a kid. You should hang out. Give it a chance. Just don't worry bout school. I'll take care of it."

I don't know if I should believe that. Aunt Becky can be either your best friend or someone who would forget your name in ten seconds.

"Just don't make me go that fixes all your problems," I said while slowly getting out of my chair.

"She told me the British museum decided to give some exhibits to the natural history museum for a while. She explicitly wanted me to mention the Egyptian exhibit."

When she said Egyptian exhibit. I tripped over my feet just by trying to take one step. I thought of ahkmenrah and how I wished him happiness as a child. That wish can't come true he's dead but that doesn't mean it can't happen for me.

"When should I leave?"

After getting off the plane. I saw Mom standing by her car waiting for me. I should just let go of my negative feelings towards her but it's hard. I walked up to her and with a surprise face she hugged me.

"Y/n you actually came."

"I know I'm surprised too."

"Come let me help you. We have much to talk about."

When she put my suitcase in the trunk very quickly. I just wanted to understand what she meant by what she said so I asked "Talk about what exactly Mom?"

She didn't hear me and was already in the driver's seat. I slowly went into the passenger seat and we awkwardly drove to her apartment. We made it up the stairs and into her apartment.

"Make yourself at home y/n."

Easier said than done is what I thought inside. I love you Mom but I don't know anymore how I feel about coming back.

"Can I go visit the museum today. You told Aunt Becky to mention it to me. I've missed it a lot would you like to come with me?"

"That museum? Oh y/n nothing impressive happens there anymore. Not since Larry something something left. You still want to go there?"

I don't know what I was expecting. I guess for my mom to come back with me like old times. So I just said "I never cared about all the stuff he brought in. Just the culture and differences that surround the place."

"You can go honey. I'll just be here."

"Okay bye." I said as I left the door. I went down the stairs and quickly hailed a taxi.

"Where to?" Asked the taxi driver.

"The natural History museum please. Would you mind if you take the longest way there."

"No problem. As long as you pay me"

"I will I promise. Just drive for me please"

As the driver promised he took the longest way possible. I don't remember how much money it cost I just paid and went into the museum. I needed that. A little drive to get my mind off of things. So now I can think all about the museum.

I wanted to slowly pace around the museum to get lost in all of time. I achieved my goal too well. When I realized the sun was starting to set I ran to the door quickly to get out of here. Before I got into trouble with any night guards or my mother. I just ran into a slight trouble. The door wouldn't open!
