"Wait a second," You squinted, "I know you."
"No shit, Sherlock."
"No need to be rude," You huffed, "You look...good."
"Turns out you can harvest your own face with some smaller parts."
"You were always smarter than he gave you credit for," You smirked, crossing your arms, "But I could've sworn-"
"You killed me?"
"Yeah, sorry about that," You cringed, "I never forgot you though, Jack."
"After everything you've seen him do," His tone was steady, but there was anger and resentment in it, "You really didn't think he'd put me back together again?"
"Jack, I didn't-"
"It's okay," He put a hand up to stop you with a sinister smile, strolling more into view so you could see the way he was put back together like Sally in Nightmare Before Christmas, "Because it's been more than fun watching you these past few years."
"Few...years?" You asked back and he raised his eyebrows, relishing in the fact that it surprised you before you steeled yourself again, "Well, why didn't you say hi? What's with all the theatrics?"
"Wanted to wait for the right time." He shrugged nonchalantly and you swallowed thickly.
"Right time for...what?"
"Yelena."
And that's what you hoped to never hear in your lifetime.
"She's got nothing to do with this," You narrowed your eyes, your fists burning as you clenched them, "This is between us, leave the kid outta it."
"Oh, on the contrary, you manipulative bitch," He spat, tilting his head with a bone chilling crack before looking up at you through his eyebrows, "She's exactly what I've been waiting for," He smirked after letting out a loud laugh, "And you can try your little tricks on me, but he's had more time with me, and believe you me, he's an artist, so he took all the time he needed to perfect the experiment he only started with you," He clapped his hands together loudly, making you flinch, "Now! Once her-"
You let out a huge, exaggerated yawn, cutting him off, and patted your mouth for good measure.
"Oh, sorry, sorry," You waved it away, "It's just the evil speeches from the 'big bads' are so boring to me these days," You chuckled and when you gestured for him to continue, purple dust particles flew off with your movements, but you ignored them, "This is like the...third? I've heard since I even joined the avengers, so I'm kind of over it, but you do you."
"Shadow finished with me like he always wanted to with you."
"Haha, ew." You winced, your own dirty mind grossing you out.
"Once he got what he wanted, he wanted more."
"Barf," You cringed, and he put his hands up, waiting for an explanation, so you just said, "Fifth base? With that creep? Now I really do feel bad for you, my friend."
"We're not friends."
"Ya know," You smirked, "I married the last person who told me that, but I have a feeling this is gonna go another way."
"It really is," His eyes glowed orange, set on you, "And Y/n, you never even left that underground tunnel."
You put your hands together in front of you, aiming your palms towards him, and your whole body heated up to dangerous temperatures before a huge beam shot at him. You expected him to move out of the way in time or get hit and fly across the room, but he didn't.
