___________________________It was no secret that Kuroo Tetsurou and Kozume Kenma were childhood friends and that didn't stop even after Kuroo graduated first from high school. However, it took them by surprise when Kuroo had hit the age of 19, merely a year after graduating high school, a text formed on his arm. That could mean one thing, which was that the date of meeting his soulmate was to be sooner than expected.
The first thing he did was go to his best friend and show off the soulmate mark he has received.
But both boys were looking down on his arm with confused looks.
"Why are you here!" Kenma just grimaced at Kuroo's statement. Out of all the words and sentences that could've been etched on Kuroo's arm, only one word was written.
Kenma.
A familiar name. The name of his childhood friend and the name of the person beside him right now.
Kuroo was starting to think that Kenma could be his soulmate.
—Another fresh day for Kuroo as he straightens the tie wrapped around his neck as he checks himself out one last time in the mirror. Today was a bit special. Kuroo's been invited to a mini reunion with his former high school volleyball team along with some players he used to play against. One of which has been good friends with Kenma. Hinata Shouyou, a now famous volleyball player whom gets sponsored by his best friend.
Without any hesitation, he agrees to come with Kenma. But Kenma tells Kuroo that he was right that a special day should be special so he insisted on doing something special as well.
So he decided to retouch his dyed hair. The black roots of his hair had gone too long for his liking. He thinks he might as well look good in front of Shoyou whom he hasn't seen for more than a year.
"Pick me up at this hair salon. I have an appointment there. Don't be late or else I'll be mad at you."
Kuroo sighs at his princess attitude. But nonetheless, he didn't mind because of the fact that he was putting effort on looking nice today for the mini high school reunion with their former mates.
He pats his pants to recheck for the car keys before finally leaving his condo.
He enters the car and leaves to go to the city. The moment he parks the car beside the hair salon Kenma had sent the location of, he lets him know that he was outside the building. Kenma doesn't reply. "Should I go in or what." He contemplates for a while before pushing the door open to enter inside.
He finds Kenma with his back turned and his hair with a half updo bun.
Could it be the time he sent was the beginning of the appointment and not the time he was supposed to pick him up?
Kuroo frowns, imagining just how long it would take them to finish if his thoughts were correct.
"Kenma!" He calls out and places his hand on his shoulder. Kenma turns around to face Kuroo.
And it was not Kenma at all
"Kenma?" You furrowed your eyebrows at him as you ask him back.
"Kuroo what are you doing?" Kuroo hears Kenma's voice behind him and he quickly looks back at the newly and freshly dyed blonde hair Kenma. His best friend didn't need to think twice to piece everything together.
Kuroo just laughs at the situation. He wasn't dumb either.
He rolls his white sleeves up to reveal the black text on his arm and then points at it before pointing at his best friend.
"Pleased to meet you. That is Kenma." Proving his theory correct, you give a slight smile.
"That makes sense now. I was beginning to think that my soulmate was a womanizer or something." Showing your bare arm to which also matches Kuroo's text.
Kenma could just stare in disgust.
Having his name on two people was not very cool.
—[ + extended ending ]
"So that is the story on why my husband and I have our best man's name etched on our arm."
"Maybe the Kuroo should've just married Kenma instead."

[ Your thoughts on soulmate aus? ]
— I honestly believe that my obsession with soulmate aus comes from more a psychological reason. too personal to reveal but it is probably a generic reason! probably the fact that in any life, somebody is perfectly made for you and vice versa!
